I can run a 4.29 also (In the 5 yard dash). This kat would look great in a Cowboys uniform, that speed is something serious. I heard he runs a LEGIT 4.29!

lmao, you tell me, how does 5 rec and 28 yards look to you? " OHHH but the O-line sucks!!" . Please.
I guess you don't understand how football works, but it's cool that's not stopping you from sharing your thoughts on the board.
Generally speaking. I see two smallish receivers that rely on speed and quickness. I wonder if their game is more suited for the college game. I realize Ross is a bit bigger, but still on the smallish side. Will his game translate better than Austin's who in my opinion has been having a so so career so far.
I would be surprised if the Cowboys draft a sub-5'11 WR in the first round. They really like their outside WRs to have size.I am thinking a lot of DEs and DBs will be ahead of him on our draft board.
People need to not put their hopes on WR. Think this team is set on bringing back their own guysI think he is a speed demon that would make our offense a absolute nightmare.

True but he got smothered pretty good though by the Bama secondary. They did a great job on him even when Washington was trying to figure out ways to get the ball in his hands early. They took Ross out of the game.
The efficacy and production of offensive skill positions is directly related to the play of the offensive line.
I watched the entire game; the Huskies were mandhandled and Browning was harassed all game. There was a clear disparity in talent.
The OL got beat up pretty good against USC and Ross went off against them.
I watched the game too and even when Washington tried some quick hitters and short stuff to get the ball out of Browning's hands, Bama stifled Ross.
I get that you like the kid but to say he wasn't shut down by Bama is simply erroneous IMO. In fairness to him, few skill players go off on Bama other than say Mike Williams.

Tavon Austin is a good reference in terms of smallish receivers tending to be dominant in college but not in the NFL. TWill has way more yards and TDs in 4 years than Austin has in the same time-frame. Obviously Ross is a couple of inches taller than Austin.
On the flip-side of the argument, Antonio Brown and DeSean Jackson both measured in right around 5-10
I'm not getting your dig?
I'm not claiming Ross wasn't clamped up by Bama, I'm claiming the whole Huskie offensive unit was. To think a WR is going somehow be productive when the offensive line is being dominated and QB harassed all game is misguided. A productive WR is the byproduct of the play of his QB (and by extension the play of the offensive line), not the other way around.
You bring up his game against USC. He beat Adoree Jackson on a move off the line for a 70-yard TD. However, if you remove that catch he averaged just a little more than 10 yards a reception. That's understanding the numbers in context.
The point is that you can't know that from stats. You have to study the game footage.I never quite understand the logic where you have to remove certain plays as if they didn't happen to make an argument. Did he break loose and use his exception skill to score a 70 yard TD or not?
And why didn't he do it against Bama? Likely because Bama's secondary pretty much shut him down. That's my only point. Bama did a great job taking him away and using their front seven to destroy the UW OL. Washington couldn't even get Ross loose on some quick hitters, which have really nothing to do with how the UW OL held up.

I don't put much stock in college stats because they are often very misleading. I sometimes use the stats to determine which games I want to review. If a player has really great or really terrible game in terms of stats, then I'm going to try to watch that game to see what happened; however, the stats themselves don't mean much. There are just too many variables that affect college stats. Level of competition, level of surrounding talent, scheme, etc.. It's especially true for WR where he is dependent on his QB and surround offense. If his QB can't get him the ball or he is aggressively double-covered on every snap then his stats will suffer. On the flip side, he'll probably have some game where the defense is not very good and his stats will be inflated.
The above is especially true on per game stats. Obviously if a player has extreme career stats either positive or negative, then that's something you can't completely ignore, but again you still have to primarily rely on the game footage to evaluate the player.
You just give a lecture on how stats need to be nuanced...then turn around and ignore nuance when comparing Williams and Austin and their different situations for the entirety of their careers. Romo & Dak vs the slop in LA.I would be surprised if the Cowboys draft a sub-5'11 WR in the first round. They really like their outside WRs to have size.

He should last to 28 if teams were smart. I keep seeing him mocked to Tampa. If Tampa were a good run organization why would they draft a wr? Their oline is terrible. This is where the BPA stuff is dumb to me if not exercised with flexibility. If you have Ross ranked slightly higher than say Cam Robinson why would they not take Cam and protect their asset? I only want Ross because with our run game he'd make our playaction deadly. If our team was constructed like Tampa I'd be hesitant on drafting him at 19 if an olineman had a similar but lesser grade. In today's NFL I don't see how a guy like this makes it to 28. He'd be perfect though.
If we take Lattimore of Adoree Jackson I'm switching teams........jk..........kind ofHis speed makes him interesting, but those knee problems will scare away a lot of teams. Still, can you imagine that speed with all the weapons we have that pull the safeties up?
I suspect the Cowboys will be looking much closer at his teammate, Sidney Jones, than they will Ross.
I still think our #1 pick will be a DB like Lattimore, or a TE like Njoku.
