This could be a good omen. They upset a big time local power today.

Led by junior quarterback John Stephen Jones, Highland Park is headed to the UILState Class 5A Division I state final next Saturday at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. John Stephen is the grandson of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and son of Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones. The youngest Jones has started all season and tries to lead Highland Park (13-2) to its first state final since 2005, when Matthew Stafford led Highland Park to a state championship.

I don't know how Ryan lost. They had monsters on both sides of the trenches.

We lost our star QB (Spencer Sanders, he's goin to Oklahoma St.) at some point in the game, must of been fairly early from what I gather.....

Understatement of the year. HP is old money.

Haha yeah. Lot of oil money from the Barnet shale too. Had a few buddies and dated a few girls from there in college. All drove $30k+ vehicles, one drove a brand new Range Rover, couldn't fathom the fact I was paying for college myself and my parents didn't just write a check for tuition.

A little out of touch, they are.

For Jones, Dooley families, football season has been twice the fun

Todd ArcherESPN Staff Writer

FRISCO, Texas -- This has been a fall to remember for Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones and wide receivers coach Derek Dooley.

The Cowboys are 11-1, have clinched a playoff spot and look to have a solid chance of making it to the franchise's first Super Bowl since 1995, but for Jones and Dooley there has been something more special about this football season.

Their sons, John Stephen Jones and J.T. Dooley, have helped Highland Park to the Class 5A state semifinals, where they will take on Denton Ryan on Saturday at their father’s home away from home on game days, AT&T Stadium.

John Stephen is a junior quarterback with 28 touchdown passes and seven more on the ground. J.T. is a senior wide receiver whose season was delayed because of a torn labrum that will require surgery once the season ends.

That will happen when you have the best coaches and training that money can buy.
