I think that the libel case was actually against The Sun Newspaper.
If that's the case, the Evil Genius Ms Heard got to humiliate Johnny, while someone else took the risk of an enormous legal bill if She failed.

Well, If POTC has a sequel without Johnny Depp, absolutely NO ONE will go to see it - you can deppend on dat. Hollywood/Disney blacklisting and hypocritical virtue signalling don't impress me none. As someone else said, Depp *IS* POTC. I won't mention any names but the cracked egg(s) on The View still get to work when some should be sacked for their behavior, why shouldn't Johnny get work?
