I don't get people that want him to coach in Dallas, the further he gets away from that Superbowl the more he seems like a cartoon character.

This.

I want nothing to do with him... Like I wanted nothing to do with Wade Phillips.

Kirk Cousins looks pretty good to me.
I watch him and Dalton, for example, and I'm not sure he isn't as good or better. And I think Dalton is a decent starter.

There's a giant difference between the 1st pick and the 32nd pick....both 1st rounders.
If it was the 32nd and you needed a QB, I don't think he's put of line.

The Sk*ns will get a late first for him at some point, if he continues playing at the clip he's playing now. Which is good, because they need them. Well, it's bad from our perspective, good from theirs.

Gruden is so overrated.... he won a super bowl with a team that Tony Dungy handed over to him. However, in this case I actually agree with him. Kirk Cousins is going to be a very good QB in this league someday. Cousins has all the intangibles you need plus his arm is stronger than people give him credit for.

Funny you should mention Dalton.... I heard rumors in each draft that Jason Garrett had interest in drafting Dalton and Cousins as QBs to develop behind Romo. Good comparison though and I agree that Cousin's ceiling is a bit higher than Dalton. That's not meant to be a knock against Dalton who has been very good so far but put Cousins on that Bengals team with A.J. Green and he'd be pretty darn good.

Any first round draft pick spent on something other than getting Romo closer to a Super Bowl is a complete waste.

The team is ideally placed to try and win the next two or three years if we can put some quality draft picks together and sign key young players.

We essentially have to replace the entire defensive line and we have to put together 2-3 oline picks. We're set at skill positions.

I certainly was not referring to Dallas using a first.

Exactly! I would take Switzer and his superbowl over Chuck and his.

I love Grudens demeanor but can't stand how he calls an offense.

He looks pretty darn good to me I suggested dangling a #2 during the offseason to see if the Commanders would bite. Gruden was real high on Russell Wilson during 2012 draft and was right about him. I like Cousins I think he could develop into a solid NFL starter. He looked great against Cleveland last season completing just over 70% of his passes for 329 yards and 2 TD's not bad for a rookie. He was 5-9 for 111yards against Atlanta last season and a TD. If you're picking late in the first round and need a QB I would consider trading a #1 for him.

Switzer was handed a team that had just won back to back SB's and had a future Hall of Fame QB, RB and WR. Gruden not only won a SB with Tampa of all teams he won it with Brad Johnson as his QB.

Gruden was handed that team as well.

Gruden's better accomplishment was building the Oakland team that got to the Super Bowl to play against the Bucs that year.

Gruden's better accomplishment was building the Oakland team that got to the Super Bowl to play against the Bucs that year.

Gruden was handed a 9-7 Bucs team who's coach just got fired. In his "first year" in Tampa Gruden went 12-4 winning the SB with one of the weakest QB's to ever win a SB. In 94 Switzer was handed one of the greatest teams ever assembled that was coming off back to back SB wins. I'm not saying Gruden didn't take over a good team in Tampa but that Bucs team wasn't even close to the team Switzer was handed which is why Tampa went 7-9 the following year after their championship. I'm in no way suggesting Gruden is a great coach but some seem to be knocking him as a coach because of his opinion of Kirk Cousins. As I mentioned Gruden also had a very high opinion of Russell Wilson during the draft 2 years ago. He gushed over him and he's developed after only one season into one of the best young QB's in the league. Gruden deserves a lot of credit helping turn an ordinary journeymen QB like Rich Gannon into an MVP player in 02.

He worked with Gannon 3 years prior to him winning that award. Two of the least likely QB's to ever play in a SB Gannon and Brad Johnson both played under Gruden. Gruden knew how to defense Gannon which led to Gannon tossing 5 int's in the SB. If Gruden has a high opinion of Kirk Cousins I certainly wouldn't discard it especially if you've seen Cousins play. I was very impressed with what I saw of Cousins last season and have a number of posts on the board during the offseason suggesting a trade for him in the event there were issues resigning Romo. His only chances to play in Wash is if RG3 gets injured. It would probably take a #1 to pry him away from Washington because they know he has potential and need him as insurance.
