JULIUS JONES
RUSHING
2005: 13 games 257 rushes 993 yards 3.9ypr 5td
2006: 13 games 234 rushes 993 yards 4.2ypr 4td

Two seemingly very different seasons, but with exactly the same result in yardage.

RECEIVING
2005: 35 catches 218 yards 6.2 ypc
2006: 8 catches 132 yards 16.5 ypc

The T.O. factor here. He gets the passes that used to go to Julius.

TOTAL TOUCHES in 13 games
2005: 292 touches 1,211 yards 4.2ypt 4 fumbles
2006: 242 touches 1,125 yards 4.7ypt 1 fumble

We're getting more production from Julius with fewer touches. 50 fewer touches is a good thing. It would be much better though IMO, if he had 50 fewer rushes, and his catches were the same.

MARION BARBER
RUSHING
2005: 13 games 138 rushes 538 yards 3.9ypr 5td
2006: 13 games 111 rushes 567 yards 5.1ypr 11td

While you might think that Barber's lower ypr was due to his starting 2 games last year, he actually had a higher ypc in his starts (4.3) than in his other games.

RECEIVING
2005: 18 catches 115 yards 6.4 ypc
2006: 14 catches 146 yards 10.4 ypc

Romo hasn't been looking to throw to him lately. Barber has 2 catches in the last 4 games.

TOTAL TOUCHES in 13 games
2005: 156 touches 653 yards 4.2ypt 3 fumbles
2006: 125 touches 713 yards 5.7ypt 0 fumbles

really think they should throw more passes to our backs.

I would like to see a running back go down the middle of the field every now and then. Most of the passes to the backs are on flare outs and then they mix in a wheel route down the sideline every now and then. Slip the backs past the line of scrimmage in front of deep dropping linebackers.

If we could stab some teams with our backs catching passes then they have to loosen up on covering the WR's and TE's - especially the TE's.
