Per Archer from ESPN just now -

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones on what the team will do at quarterback with an 8-1 record led by Dak Prescott: "We're going to let this decision in this case make itself. Dak's got a hot hand and we're going to go with it."

As much as I love Tony, Dak has proven that this is his team now. He doesn't make mistakes, and he wins ballgames. Also, we now have the best backup in the league!

Gotta do what's best for the team, not for one player. Love Tony, one of my favorite Cowboys of all time, but I believe this is the right decision.

Romo hasn't played in over a year. It would be a fool's errand to insert him into the line-up of a team on an 8 game winning streak.

It's the only sensible thing to do. Dak has earned the right to continue starting. With 8 straight wins literally no team in Cowboys history has played better during the regular season.

Hate the term "hot hand". Implies Dak is not a fundamentally sound QB and that there is an element of luck to all this that could change in an instant. Absolute rubbish.
