I know many people here have not been crazy about the Felix Jones pick but let's look at the 1990 draft that Emmitt Smith was drafted in

2. New York Jets Blair Thomas RB Penn State
17. Dallas Cowboys Emmitt Smith RB Florida
19. Green Bay Packers Darrell Thompson RB Minnesota
20. Atlanta Falcons Steve Broussard RB Washington State
24. New York Giants Rodney Hampton RB Georgia
25. San Francisco 49ers Dexter Carter RB Florida State

All of these guys were 1st round picks. How many of them had a great career? Hint Blair Thomas was a bust :D There are no sure things in picking a RB. Mendenhall could be the best back drafted this year when we look back in 10 years or he could be another Thomas. Here's to hoping that we picked an Emmitt and not a Thomas out of this draft :)

Just for fun i've added additional rounds below

31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Reggie Cobb Running Back Tennessee
32 Phoenix Cardinals Anthony Thompson Running Back Indiana
37 Indianapolis Colts Anthony Johnson Running Back Notre Dame
39 Cincinnati Bengals Harold Green Running Back South Carolina
43 Buffalo Bills Carwell Gardner Running Back Louisville
46 Cleveland Browns Leroy Hoard Running Back Michigan

90 Seattle Seahawks Chris Warren Running Back Ferrum, Va.
101 Buffalo Bills Eddie Fuller Running Back Louisiana State
118 Chicago Bears Pat Chaffey Running Back Oregon State
121 New England Patriots James Gray Running Back Texas Tech
129 Pittsburgh Steelers Barry Foster Running Back Arkansas
131 Washington Commanders Brian Mitchell Running Back Louisiana-Lafayette
132 Minnesota Vikings Cedric Smith Running Back Florida
138 Miami Dolphins Leroy Holt Running Back Southern California
140 Atlanta Falcons Mike Pringle Running Back Cal State-Fullerton
142 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Derrick Douglas Running Back Louisiana Tech
150 Los Angeles Raiders Marcus Wilson Running Back Virginia
170 Phoenix Cardinals Johnny Johnson Running Back San Jose State
185 Houston Oilers Andy Murray Running Back Kentucky
192 New York Giants Aaron Emanuel Running Back Southern California
201 Chicago Bears James Rouse Running Back Arkansas
202 San Diego Chargers J.J. Flannigan Running Back Colorado
207 Indianapolis Colts Ken Clark Running Back Nebraska
229 Chicago Bears Johnny Bailey Running Back Texas A&M-Kingsville
231 Los Angeles Raiders Leon Perry Running Back Oklahoma
234 New Orleans Saints Broderick Graves Running Back Winston-Salem
236 Kansas City Chiefs Michael Owens Running Back Syracuse
242 Minnesota Vikings Terry Allen Running Back Clemson
254 New England Patriots Anthony Landry Running Back Stephen F. Austin
286 Detroit Lions Reginald Warnsley Running Back Southern Mississippi

Felix Jones will be used for so many things it will be tough for him to not be a very servicable player for us.

I really think teams are going to lose him in our offense and we will get him in space and hes going to make a lot of big plays.

Im not sure how good of a receiver Choice is, but Barber, and Felix Jones can catch the football.

Barber and Romo have really good chemistry when things break down also.

I was thinking the same thing about Barber when people were talking about how Felix could add pass catching to our running back corps. Barber had some amazing plays last year off of dump off passes from Romo

Yeah with our QB's ability to scramble, and running backs who can catch the ball and get up field fast, I expect to see us run a lot of screens this year.

Teams like the Eagles who want to blitz a lot should pay the piper against us.

We picked up Choice at 122....look at who hit in that range in 1990. If he is as good as Chris Warren, Brian Mitchel, or Terry Allen we would be laughing :D

And the reason he fell that far was supposedly because of some injury that looks to be ok.

My only problem with Choice is his speed because everything else looks to be there.

His feet just look so slow.

Im definetely not an expert on this guy though and I watched him run more at OU than I did Georgia Tech.

Nothing is for certain till they strap it up for an extended period of time. Could be we have all these dreams for these guys and Walden ends up the best of the bunch.

Right now, all we have to go off are coaches comments and youtube videos.

You're right - he is SLOW. At the next level, he'll be even slower . . .

Yeah Emmitt and Barber were too slow also. Sure KILLED them in the pros.

If Choice comes in and gives us 200-250 yards of offense, from the 3rd runningback, we should be thrilled to get that.

Between Barber and Jones our running and passing game, from the position, will be just fine.
