performances in Cowboys history. That's really an incredible feat when you consider how little he has played thus far in his career and the lines he has been behind. Only Emmitt and Dorsett topped Julius' 2 performances and they each only did it once during their long careers behind superior O-lines. Thanks Julius and D. Ware for making this a merrier (is that even a word?)Christmas than I thought it was going to be! Happy Holidays everyone! :lombardi:

Yards Rusher Opponent Date
237 Emmitt Smith @Philadelphia October 31, 1993
206 Tony Dorsett Philadelphia December 4, 1977
198 Julius Jones @Seattle December 6, 2004
194 Julius Jones @Carolina December 24, 2005

JJ is as explosive as Dorsett. It seems he can bust a long run at any time. He's got great speed.

Dorsett was more durable. Which is an amazing feat considering Dorsett was 5-10 190.

I still think Jones can be a great back. If he can just keep away from the nagging injuries, he'll be very good.

Now, I'm not saying Jones is as good as Dorsett....far from it....Dorsett had better vision and better moves. But Jones can break the long one at any time, just like Dorsett.

And if Purcells would quit messing with his running style.

I'm am very optimistic that JJ's performance yesterday was the the turning point in his career. Thanks to key telling him " just go run the ***** ball". Guess what it worked!

He was finding holes and hitting them with speed and power. He was finding away to get past the second tier of tacklers and making people miss. The light bulb flashed and I do not think it will be going off anytime soon.

Just learn how to stay healthy JJ.

don't forget, Parcells challenged JJ not to long ago to make his own holes, and to make guys miss in the open field

that and coinciding with JJ's ankle being 100%=yesterday's performance

Hangover?.....

JJ is no longer confussed as to what he must do to be successful. Just go run the fricking ball forget about fumbling or messing up.......just use your natural abilities and get the job done.

The light bulb on=brain computing Light bulb going off= brain not computing :D

Forget it.....I reread my post.....my bad :

I think its mostly his ankle finally being near 100%. He was really exploding through every hole he saw, and some that he didn't see. He should have a great game against the Rams next week also. And after all his problems this year he still is likely to get 1000 yards.

Well, why didn't BP do that about 10 games ago? Before his injury- why didn't BP let him off the leash then- it was already clear that he was not running like he was last year. But then BP is so stubborn- especially when he realizes he is wrong.

Does that mean that the 189 T Hambrick put on Washington has been erased from the top four?
Nice to put that blemish behind us.

Yea I was about to say.

Dorsett was more explosive than Emmitt and Julius Jones combined....I'll give Julius JOnes some more time before I give an opinion about him.
