lol....................... tell thatto all those being released after spending decades in prison due to DNA proving their innocence. There is a reason "The Innocence Project," exists, and it isnt because these cases are far and few in bwteen.

OK, I see where you stand so I'm just going to back away slowly.

I’m justifying the fact that he probably should have been escorted away if he gets into it with state authority of all people. If he needs help, get him to help. You can be sympathetic toward someone’s condition while hauling him off.
That's the same thing I said to my prize pig.....oh wait, we are talking about a human being here.

Well folks it turns out Josh Brent wasnt drinking or using any drugs when he was arrested. Its interesting how many of you internet tough guys with stone hearts jumped all over this guy calling for him to be imprisoned, fired ect.......

Now that the true story comes out it seems quiet in here.

You all know who you are. You lashed out publicly towards a man who was suffering from a mental breakdown. How do you feel now that the big shirtless man at Wendy's was suffering form a mental illness?
I'd like to thing that this type of thing will cause some to give a fellow man the benefit of the doubt next time but unfortunately I doubt it. We have become a cold judgmental bunch who prefers to tear each other apart more than empathize with others struggles.

Arrest warrant withdrawn for ex-Dallas Cowboy Josh Brent

Current Dallas Cowboys scout and former defensive lineman Josh Brent is no longer facing arrest for his June 30 arrest.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, an arrest warrant for probation violation has been withdrawn. The reason why the warrant was withdrawn wasn't immediately made available, but Calvin Watkins of The Athletic reports that Brent tested clean for drugs and alcohol despite the initial report claiming he was intoxicated.

On the date in question, officers were called to the 800 block of MacArthur Boulevard, where a man was reportedly sitting in the grass and talking to himself. The officers determined the man, Brent, was drunk, and told him that he was going to be arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. He failed to cooperate, a tussle then ensued and Brent had to be tased in order to be subdued.

Brent reportedly admitted to police that he was drunk, when it appeared that he was actually suffering a mental breakdown. He is now undergoing treatment, and Watkins reports that the support from the Cowboys remains strong.

You must have climbed all week to reach that pinnacle on the high road.
Silent, were you, as we reviewed what led this schlub to being shirtless and then having to be tased?
Oh, but he had a mental illness, you say in a shrill voice!
Dont you think that all idiots who resist and run from police and have to be tased are mentally ill at the time?
I guess the mental illness, too, led him to DUI, not have a license, not wear a seatbelt and to speed?? And kill a man?
I guess being shirtless mumbling to yourself is not a crime, but, matey, you want your kids or sweeties tripping over him when they leave a restaurant?
If have diagnosed mental illness. Great doctor!
What is your treatment plan?
Counseling then a relapse to psychosis or being drunk?
Why aren't you, his family and friends, those closest to him, alerting officials of his condition at the time?
Your kind wades into the crowd, shouts solutions and tries to shame those who ... look askance at fatally injurious car wrecks and then behavior usually left to those in the animal kingdom.
Enjoy your day of indignation, oaf, enjoy your high pedestal so you can preach to us.
But do not preach to us, preach to your newest project, a 300-pound man child who has a good lawyer and allows himself to be diagnosed by charlatans liked yourself. Then freedom!
You bought it. You are the keeper of Josh Brent, however he cooperates or does not with mental illness, a condition shared by most criminals at the moment just before capture.

Dry your eyes and go to him, doctor. Give him our best wishes but dont say everyone is automatically diagnosing him like you are.
I am withholding my laurels and palm leaves for the time....

Well, first i want to state that i didn't give any opinion (post) - positive or negative - on this whole Brent case. So don't throw me under the bus when i only want to give some food for thought.

It's normal that the police will take evidence of something that happened even if the suspect admits he did it. That because the suspect can always withdraw his confession by mentioning some good reasons afterwards.
So i think the police at least took a breath test. I would even guess they took a blood test at the police station. So what is with that ?

Maybe they didn't do those. And with money to pay a good lawyer later will find a way to handle small mistakes by the police in his client's favor.

It's quiet because nobody gives a crap about what's going on with Josh Brent. Does he give a crap about you? No, he doesn't.
Well here is a stupid post.
The thread ripping him wasn’t quiet. So you only care when the opportunity exist to tear someone down.

Does any player care about me? Really?
You couldn’t think of a better reply?

He was drinking when he wrecked and killed his buddy. The guilt is literally killing him. Tough situation, a lot of us have driven drunk before.

I seriously hope some of you never have a loved one experience a mental breakdown, become schizophrenic, bipolar, or any other mental illness no one wants or asks to have fall upon them.

Nobody is saying that isn’t terrible. But what should the police have done? Just leave him and allow him to be aggressive toward whoever approaches?

Yeah! How dare you all assume he was drunk after he told police he was drunk!
and you know he told the police he was drunk how? oh... because that is what the POLICE said.... then he promptly took a blood test that showed he had zero booze in his system.

how do we know he was agressive? did they have body cams on? if they did, and they had to tase him, I can ensure you he would have been charged with something regardless if he was drunk or not. They tase you when you fail to comply with a LAWFUL order, then he resisted. Those charges would not have just disapeeared.... unless, maybe the entire encounter by police is not exactly as they stated?

So when the initial report came out the police report stated he was arrested under suspicion of public intoxication and there was a strong presence of alcohol on his breath, so I don't know why you're lashing out at poeple who were just stating what was known at the time comes from.............And I'm sure Jerry didn't make a phone call to the police chief and or Mayor to get some preferential treatment either, because that never happens, right???(ask Jussie Smollett)

He resisted and ‘tussled’ as the story said. How do we know that actually happened? How do we know anything happened or it was even Josh Brent.

of course the police report is 100% accurate , right? Dont be so quick to believe police. I am a Marine vet that served in the Gulf War, a HS and Club coach for over 20 years, and a school teacher. Should I have some credibility? I would think so. Ive never been arrested.... yet I have had cops write me a ticket where they 100% lied and knew they were lying, so please dont assume cops are always honest when explaining a series of events.

"Tussling," with offciers in and of itself is a crime....and he was already on probation/parole(not sure which one) which is an automatic lose for the defendant, yet his arrest was withdrawn. Why do you think?
Of course, bloke, some police have ill intentions.
Yet, at 3 a.m., when a criminal is breaking down the door, I will take my chances with the constabulary ALL the time and not the Josh Brents of the world.
