You can stand by it if you want but it just makes you look silly.
RIGHT.

Wentz played really good today, but it looked better because of the horrible team they played. The browns are waaaaay worse than they were last year, which is saying something.

Watch what happens to Wentz when he plays someone who is not helpless on defense...just watch. That first drive for the Cowboys, it was like Wentz played a game on Pro and Dak was playing on All-Madden level..

Easiest way I can explain it.

My point is that our team did not improve at all in the offseason. Every other team in our division at least made moves to try.

That's because the FO thought we were a Tony Romo away from being back in 2014.

Fraid not.

And maybe that will happen.

But today one QB played better than the other. And that wasn't our QB.

Dollar store free agency is cool when you draft well. We don't outside of the first.

Agree with the general sentiment but maybe yo didn't go far enough.

Elliott was a good selection? How was he any better than Alfred Morris today? If the defense has a single guy that is above average...I'd like a name. Lee at this point looks average and most of the D are below average.

And one QB played one of the worst teams if not THE worst team in the more recent history of the league, while another QB played a tough divisional rival whose games always comes down to the wire.

And that's fine if you want to spin it that way. And I am not even saying Prescott played terribly. I think he played fine.

But you won't find any rational person outside of Dallas that would say Prescott outplayed Wentz.

Then you'd be complaining when we can't afford to re-sign Martin.

Fact of the matter is big name FA acquisitions rarely work out and we ended up getting an equal QB for better value in the draft.

Overreaction Sunday Night, here we go.

We need to work on drafting well.

Morris is a veteran......Elliot is a rookie. The rookie is going to take some time to get his feet wet.

Yeah this is really silly. People can't seriously be saying they'd rather trade all of our 1st rounders for Wentz as opposed to drafting Dak. I saw Wentz today....he looked good but I Can't say he looked 4 rounds better than Dak did.....and to be honest, I think Dak looked far more like a vet than Wentz did.

We could have signed Mario Williams for a fairly cheap contract. He played very well today for Miami before being evaluated for a concussion.

Robert Ayers was another guy we looked at, who signed in Tampa on a team friendly deal and also played well today for them.

We went cheap and bargain bin and we got the expected results.

I am not sure he's worth that contract but he was active and disruptive all game long.

I guess disruptive is subjective. He looked good out there but nothing for me to sit here and make a thread talking about how our rivals are better than us because they take chances.

Running back isn't like most other positions. Rookies often excel right out of the shoot.

There wasn't a single run that Elliot had today...not one...that made me think of Emmitt Smith. There was nothing where he created something out of nothing....or busted out of a tackle.

Dak thoroughly impressed me. Elliott? Just seemed like JAG today.

The difference between us and the NFC East. All of our rivals made bold moves to improve their teams. We sat on our hands in free agency and drafted a redshirt second rounder. Our secondary needed an overhaul, and we re signed Mo and kept Carr instead. This is going to be a very frustrating year. As I've said before, this is not a playoff roster, even with a weak schedule. I hope that Jaylon recovers, Gregory and DLaw screw their heads on straight, and for the love of God, we commit some serious money to proven CBs. That is all
This feels premature.

Again I don't know about his contract but the Giants wanted to upgrade DE and so did we and one team had the clear better DE out there and one team looked like they shopped at the Walmart outlet for DE help.

EE was thoroughly gameplanned......the NYG weren't getting beat by EE today

I don't recall seeing Dak on his back much today........

He faced far more pressure than Eli did.

Also, their DEs played much better in the run game than ours did.

Only a homer would argue that our DEs played well today.
