So instead of signing 4 different guys you'd rather them waste that money on one guy and the defense would still suck? Especially since whoever that was would probably be backing up Gregory or Lawrence when they get back? I guess........

ABSOLUTELY! ONE legitimate playmaker trumps 4 schmucks. You are afraid of making a move because the move might be worse than what we already have??? I hate to break it to you, this D could not be worse at pressuring the passer OR stopping the run, especially late in games.

Quality ALWAYS trumps quantity.

I'd rather have 4 quality players to be honest.

You grade quite liberally on the "quality" scale. You listed Claiborne, Jack (I assume Crawford), Mayowa and Thornton as the 4.

Two of them are not exactly "quality" players in J Crawford and Mayowa. Claiborne is a reclamation project and actually signed a cheap contract. Only proven guy in the 4 is Thornton.

And despite that, they still could have signed a "quality" veteran DE and still brought those four in. I think what's happening here is that deep down you realize they did not do enough but you are quick to defend the organization so your only fallback position at this point is try to argue it was impossible given the cap. But that's not true at all.

I didn't "list" anyone lol. I was making a general statement. I'd rather have 4 quality players than 1.

I'm not quick to defend this organization. I just know that whoever was out there...it would've been the same result. It would've been a 1 point loss even with Mario Williams or Robert Ayers. It happens time and time again.

People said we needed a pass rush last year and we go out and get the best one on the market in Greg Hardy and the best one in the draft and Randy Gregory and we STILL had a bad pass rush. Free agency isn't there answer to our problems. They are going to have to draft someone and develop them. That's how teams get better. Teams don't get better by putting a band aid on a gun shot wound but you guys fail to realize that.

You guys spent all offseason long telling us how GREAT the Deadskins were when hey signed Josh Norman and you know what? They still gave up 38 and they still lack a pass rush and they still can't defend or run the football.

But all of you arm chair GM's believe Robert Ayers or Mario Williams or any other 3rd rate DE is the answer.....

Hopefully Dak saves them from their gigantic mistake of not moving up for Carson Wentz.

We won't agree. All it would have taken is one more sack of Eli and we could have won that game. Maybe a few pressures from Williams forces him to make another bad pass.

The idea that a guy like Williams couldn't help us is the type of logic that comes from homer fans that think everything the front office did for the team was the best they could have done.

Its realist logic. If Greg Hardy couldn't do anything here you think someone inferior than him will? The result will be the same. That's not "homer" that's being a realist. How many guys and stop gaps do you need to see to realize this pass rush won't improve until we get some youth on it?

You may be right. But 90% of the league are jags. You win this league with jags.

You PLAY in this league with jags, you don't WIN with jags. Especially at a position group that is key to success for this D scheme.

You win with jags. Every team has superstars. Browns have Joe Haden. What separates the good teams from the bad are the jags.

Browns are a poor example for your winning with jags theory. How many jags are there on Denver's defense? How many pro bowlers? Now compare those ratios to the Cowboys. You can do the same with any other WINNING team like Seattle, Carolina, NE, etc.

Neither Garrett or Marinelli can win with just jags anyway, so point is moot.
