I've been maintaining that Garett, Thomas, Allen, and Barnett are the only D lineman that would give us the immediate impact we are looking for. Taco and Harris both have high potential, but both have flaws and will need to be developed. Both should definitely be in consideration at 28 tho, as you're never going to find a ready to go impact pass rusher that late. Williams is too much of a risk to take in the 1st imo, and I'm just not a fan of Takk or Lawson. I think a lot of people here definitely have their expectations too when it comes to DE at 28 though.

What am I missing? That tweet and the headline don't match.
Reading about what NFL people tell the media in regards to the draft is rarely worth the time. You never know if there are being truthful or intentionally misleading. Sometimes it seems that the media just finds somebody that works for a team that will spout off whatever's on their mind at the minute without giving it much thought. Being that the sources are not unnamed, the media can attribute anything they want to a team "source".

I think this class is thin on elite prospects and fairly solid on good prospects
And someone will find a gem or two after the top few are gone. Hopefully we are one of them but good may very well be better than what we got

Wow all the dismissals in here

I agree there are way too many overrated edge rushers right now. 6 or 7 first round grades on edge guys? Lol more like 3. The rest have potential that's it

Tim Williams is #2 pass rusher in my book. But baggage.

Some of the later rds prospects like Smoot are really good and would start at RDE for us, no need to force a pick at 28.just pick BPA.

As a pure edge rusher it's arguable....don't think Tim Williams is anywhere near a 3 down 4-3 DE though. He might be a guy that has to stay in a 3-4.
