I actually had the chance to see Journey in concert 3 nights in a row back in the 80's. This is a fantastic cover band. Amazing sound.

That's how they hired the guy. They saw him on youtube and gave him the job.

I don't know if it's the same guy, but I saw them in the summer of 1999 and they were awesome. The guy looked and sounded just like him. That was a great show.

They used to have a guy they called Steve Perry with a perm. :lmao:

The guy sounded just like Steve Perry.

Steve is/was a great singer but is one ugly bastid. :D

rofl...this guy didn't have a perm.:D

We were out on the lawn seats, and when they first started playing we all turned to look a little closer to see if it really was Steve Perry. Lots of people called the local radio station to ask as well.

It would have been Steve Augeri (pronounced "Oh jerry" ;) ) in '99 IIRC.

I saw journey in 2001. Good times. In 2005, I saw a journey cover band called "Frontiers" at the Clarenden Grill in Arlington, VA....and they kicked "Journey"'s arse. Great show...bring babes (or in some cases, dudes).

Steve Augori had a rock hit in the early 1990's. Band called Tall Stories or something like that

Augeri had to quit due to losing his voice. Some type of voice box chronic disease.

Not many folks know of Tall Stories, I actually did the lights for them when they shot the video for 'Wild on the Run" using our gear at Bangles in Denver way back when, awesome band and great guys, if you can find the CD get it, it is very good

That's really a shame. I saw them in concert with Augeri a couple years ago and was really impressed.

This guy (in the YouTube vid) isn't bad though. How long has he had the gig?

Journey was pretty decent. The old stuff holds up surprisingly well, I think.

The wife and daughter were watching some vintage Journey footage the other day, and were snickering. I asked why. They mentioned the "Journey pants" and it was speculated that Perry was wearing an extra sock (in an area for which it was not intended).
