Gotta love a "trial" where the defendant has no opportunity to speak and spends the entire time being insulted and slandered by the "judge." If I were that defendant, I would seriously see if there was some legal action she could take against Judy. I'm sure they signed contracts to be on the show though.

Well, she wasn't given a chance to make a defense. And without being able to look at the ad myself I can't say what I think about the auction. I don't feel sorry for people that buy boxes for the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 because they didn't read the ad. I do blame them, not the people selling it. If people don't read what they bid on, then they have no right to blame anyone else. I think the people that sell things like that are stupid, but I have no problem with them doing it if they do it right and people are just too stupid and buy the things anyway.

But again, without seeing the ad for myself I can't say whether or not she did it how she should have or not. And even if it was clear it was 100% her fault, she deserves at least a chance to make a defense, no matter what it is. She wasn't even allowed to talk, and was just yelled at and insulted. Very inappropriate behavior by Judy, and I would say possibly slanderous.

Of course Judge Judy and these shows have never let anything like laws or anything get in the way of their ratings or rulings, so they do what they want, even if it has nothing to do with law.

I'm sorry, but "read the fine print" is not an adequate defense is there was an intent to deceive, and boy was there an intent to deceive. Besides, the package didn't weigh 4.whatever ounces as promised, so the jig was up either way.

Like I said, I'd have to see the ad myself to know. You can't go by a little snippet here or there that they had on there to know exactly how the thing is written. And it makes no matter whether or not it was legit or not. She still has the right to make a defense. She was not given that in any way shape or form.

I love Judge Judy, she is dead on 90% of the time. How did Judge Judy slander her, by saying the truth? Its not slander if what you say is true, she is a fat lazy be och and she is a thief, hardly slander.

Judge Judy isn't a part of the legal system... like you said in an earlier post the "defendant" there signed a contract to be on that show, and that contract probably signed away all of her rights. She probably doesn't have a "right" to make a defense if they don't want to give it to her. Don't confuse a real defendant's right to put on a defense in a court of law with that "defendant's" right to make her case.

I wonder if the "defendant" is regretting her decision to enter into that contract? I wonder if she wishes she hadn't gone on that show? Ironic no?
