Not trying to start trouble..but does anyone else think Julius does nothing special when running the ball? No spins, jukes , cutbacks... no vision? Just seems like MBIII sees so much more..and this is not a "start MBIII" thread. Just a few regular zoners..please comment on his performance last nite please.
Have a great day!
1-0 baby!

JJ obviously is better going outside, esp. if the OL isn't creating the lanes inside. Every time I see him catch a screen pass I expect him to at least get the first down, and possibly break it.

But as far as an every down back, one who runs it between the tackles, no question MB3's better. But we can't be so predictable to where every time JJ is in there we're going to run it wide or a screen pass.

They're both going to play, no matter who the starter is. i just want Garrett to put them in the right spots to be successful.

I hope we get a real RB in next years draft.

Just think what this offense would be with a true RB that defenses feared.

I agree totally Barber is the better back and should start, no more bologne! We want Barber! His TD was off the hook!

Now that he's not a robot JJ is able to showcase his terrific instincts by running out of bounds to stop the clock when we have the lead late in the game.

I agree Barber looked very good and was able to bounce it outside on a couple of runs including the TD run for 18 yards. He also had a big pickup on a short pass. I would think the more he shows the more time Garrett will give him

That really bothered me, he has to know better than that.

Julius Jones ran the ball 16 times for 66 yards. Nothing special indeed.

That is 4 yds a carry though.

Parcells programmed him to go out of bounds whenever the opponent has 35 points late in a game, figuring we would necessarily be behind on the scoreboard.

One thing I thought was weird was that it seemed when JJ ran the ball, all the runs seemed to be to the offensive left. I though they would be better off using Davis' intial push and running JJ to the right.

The first 3-4 run plays called for JJ were off of Kosier's hip. I just thought that was odd that they wouldn't put JJ and his smaller body (that can get lost behind Bigg) to the right side of the line.

Obviously the Cowboys don't think he's anything special as JJT mentioned a while back. They don't seem concerned about getting his contract extended past this season.

I would bet that when the time comes there will be an effort to keep MB3 in a Cowboy uniform even if we acquire another RB in the draft next season.

I'm not overly impressed with Jones, but I will ALWAYS take 4 yds a carry.
That was the league average. You can have average. I'll take above average.
