IRVING – Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones expects running back Julius Jones and linebacker Dat Nguyen to play this week, but he is having a difficult time getting over the loss of Pro Bowl left tackle Flozell Adams.
Adams suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Sunday's game against the New York Giants and will miss the rest of the season.

"I don't know if I can put into words the loss," Jones said. "That was a vulnerable position for us. When you lose a left tackle, you don't replace them."
The Cowboys will try with Torrin Tucker and seven-year veteran Ethan Brooks, who has agreed to terms, according to Jones.
Brooks, 6-6, 330 pounds, made seven starts with Baltimore last season, including two starts at left tackle. He was with the New York Jets during training camp.
But losing Adams, who had made 107 consecutive starts, is a big blow.
"When you get a really top player, a Pro Bowl-type player, and you lose him, you're going to take a hit," Jones said. "And everybody has to deal with it and the consternation that it brings."
Crayton still on active roster: Wide receiver Patrick Crayton had surgery Tuesday on his injured right ankle and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, but the Cowboys will keep him on the active roster for now.
The Cowboys could place Crayton on injured reserve, which would end his season, if the rehab process goes slowly.
Peerless Price is expected to take over Crayton's role as the third receiver.
"There's nothing broken, which is the good news," Crayton's agent Fred Lyles said. "He had some ligament damage, but he doesn't have a high ankle sprain, which is good."
Briefly: The Cowboys worked out three receivers Tuesday – Ahmad Merritt, who performed well in training camp before suffering a foot injury, J.R. Tolver and Carl Kearney. Tolver and Kearney are practice-squad eligible, and one of them could be added today. ... Linebackers Jay Foreman and Terry Pierce also worked out.
