It seems that Julius is struggling playing with Tony Romo. Dont even know how this is possible...

Julius wasn't running exceptionally well against tampa but towards the 2nd half I'm pretty sure when they showed Parcells talking to Julius and Julius nodded to him that he was saying something along the lines of I wanna keep you fresh for New York since the game was already well in hand.

Let's see what this ten day rest does for him. Parcells is trying to keep gas in his tank.

I don't disagree with this statement at all. Have commented on this to people watching the game with me too many times to count. If a hole is relatively straight ahead he seems to hit it, but I can't count how many times I thought he could bounce it outside for big yards. MB III seems to have that instinct where JJ doesn't.

Maybe the DL was charging after Bledsoe so fast they forgot about JJ.....with ROMO they have to concerntrate on everyone.

Julius is a good back but there are a LOT better backs in this league. I totally agree that JJ's vision is lacking.

He is going where the play is supposed to go since BP RANTS ABOUT THAT ALL THE TIME. His vision is fine; he just has to follow orders.
I really wish BP had left him alone to run the way he did as a rookie. No problems with vision, etc THEN.

Yeah, I noticed that shot too. I imagtined them saying the same thing - who knows?

But it would make sense that Parcells was giving Jones a break - on purpose.

I agree. It seems as if his vision and instincts are no longer as big a part of his style. I think he's just running the way BP wants and not freelancincing as much.

Yep, look at his rookie year. He bouned outside constantly. Don't think its his vision i think he is just trying to make sure that he eliminates those negative runs.

Julius is averaging 4.0 ypc and is on pace for 1300 yds or so. He would be the first back since Emmitt to go over a 1000 yards. 1000 yds may seem meaningless nowadays, but it is a marker to team success.

I've got no problems with Julius' production. I hear people whine about Julius' vision and yet on game day, after almost every run, I hear people say, nice run by Julius, or good run by Julius.

He hasn't had what we as fans would call a breakout game similar to his '04 production, but he's been solid. I wouldn't call him an elite running back at this point in his career, but he's been very good this year.

And while Parcells is given credit for Romo, people complain about the job he's done with Julius. They think he's taken something away from him. When you listen to Parcells, Julius is doing exactly what Parcells wants. He knows what he needs to do. He may misread a guy and get tackled earlier than the play might have called for, but when he goes to the sidelines and Parcells asked him what he saw, he tells him.

Realistically this is Julius first full year without any game-sitting injuries. I look forward to next year to see what he'll be able to do after a whole season and more knowledge of the game.

I completely agree.

BP has said over the past few weeks that he is trying to keep Julius fresh for the stretch run.

Also, Julius is the one wearing the D down and Barber is the one benefiting from it in the second half.

The big difference between this season and Julius' first two years is that when JJ hits 20 carries now, MBIII comes in and cleans up. Every huge game JJ has had before this year involved 29 or more carries -- with many of those late carries being for huge gains. Those late game carries were the ones where Julius showed the best vision. It is far easier to show "vision" when you have a tired D.

I look for JJ to get a ton of carries this week. Bill expressed that he wanted to keep Julius at 20 carries per game. Right now he is about at 18 a game. Bill's been saving him for this game.

Parcells already talked about keeping his backs fresh for the long stretch after Thanksgiving and the "mini bye week"

Once through the line of scrimmage there is no specific direction the play is supposed to go other than toward positive yardage. Bill isn't directing JJ to continue on a straight line with no deviation until he gets tackled - it's ridiculous to suggest that.

The only thing Bill is preaching is to run north and south - he is not telling his guys not to make moves or make tacklers miss or make cuts or find a seam.

JJ is not looking for other options at the line is what I mean- something he did so well as a rookie.

He has been directing him to attack or take on the safeties and they are past the line of scrimmage. I take that to mean you hit the hole and stay there until you get to the safeties, what do you take it to mean?

Funny how he is struggling but he's still on pace for almost 1300 yards. Funny how he is struggling but Parcells says he is still the main back.
Funny how he is struggling but he is, and according to Parcells will remain the starter and get the majority of the work.

I love our rb rotation, and don't think it needs to be touched at all. One thig that people need to keep in mind is that the majority of Barber's carries are on 3rd down or at the end of a game. Julius is wearing teams down and Barber is mopping up after him. That's not a knock to MBIII, but rather an honest observation of what is taking place. If Julius were getting those carries he would be doing the same things with them. It is a lot tougher to run on 1st down when the other team knows it's coming than it is on 3rd and 8 with the other team in the nickle.
