Case in point....his 60+ yard TD run. I can't see that play enough as he juked Woodson and made him whiff. Do you realize if he gets taken down there that it's a 5 yard gainer? Wouldn't even have been a first down. THAT'S WHAT JJ ALWAYS DID. NO, I've never been one in here to be overly hard on JJ, I love and support my guys, but when he made that move......I almost pitched a tent in my Lazy Boy! :laugh1: ;) . I can't wait until this week's game to see what plays Red will put in for the "40 yr. old rookie".

I'm thrilled we have Felix Jones, he was a sensational pick for us and has an extremely bright future.

But can people stop with the bang on Julius Jones threads now? In case people havent noticed, he's had two pretty good games the past two weeks, and they have a QB with a bad back, no WR's to speak of and an OL that is not exactly world class.

He's gone...we made out great, it seems Seattle is making out ok.

Hey, like I said I never had anything against him, but the facts are clear that Felix has moves, fluidity and speed in the open field that what's his name never had....and still doesn't. That's all......not ripping the guy, just stating a fact. My first and last post on the subject.

you must have forgotten the 2004 bears game where julius jones juked two defenders out of their socks for a 33 yard touch down.

Felix's got this unique thing to completely flummox defenders who have the angle on him and are chasing him down ....

He just puts a little move on at exactly the right time, without losing speed. He kinda moves into them, then out, and their angle of approach is just forked. He's got all that geometry in his head and just knows how to leave them grasping.

I wonder if having him on film will help defenses figure out what he's doing with his fakes.

Sayers did stuff you couldn't do now, stop cold, then spin around, kind of stop dead and do triple fakes and a hip shake ... defenses are too fast now for that stuff.

Julius did this his Rookie year too....Seattle game?

The two big Felix runs/returns he's running untouched through HUGE holes and getting at secondary full speed. Lets revisit when no holes there. Oline deserves more props - JMO

A few thoughts:

1) Julius' problem ALWAYS was consistency. He'd string two or three games together and then disappear, if I'm not mistake. So that's my first question.

2) He's always done well at Seattle. Very interesting to see how he does on the road for them.

3) Does his production diminish when Maurice Morris returns? As noted here, Julius isn't very good when splitting the carries.

4) I'm not sure a Felix vs. Julius comparison is even remotely fair -- almost like comparing apples to oranges. Felix is an unbelievably better role player. Julius NEVER gave us that 60-yard run in the middle of a game in spot duty. Never. But I'm not sure that Julius isn't the better starter. Is Felix really a 22-cary a game guy? Not that we need him to be -- again, just illustrating the apples vs. oranges.

Julius will calm down later.

Probably in weeks 5,6,7 when he faces some real defenses.

Did anyone see JJ's big run? A thing of beauty. He first did his vintage run into the heart of a pile, but no one was able to grab him. Then he was able to bounce outside and sprint 20+ yards untouched to the endzone.

It was weird. He ran right into the pile and kinda bounced backwards and then took off again. I'm surprised he didn't fall down.

After watching that video a few times, I'm convinced that Bill Parcells ruined this guy. By teaching him to commit to the hole and stop freelancing, BP took away Julius' primary strength i.e. making quick cuts away from a clogged hole and running to daylight.

I hope Julius can revert back to his old ways. I'm rooting for him.

When it comes to Felix, it's clear that he can make quick cuts too but has more speed than Julius. I'm glad he's a Cowboy.
