on Usiamura. (Sp?) Instead of trying to out run the guy, put a move on him like the Julius of last year. Though I am sure impressed with Usiamura. Giants are lucky they have him to take over when Strahan retires.

It really seems to me he's very afraid of fumbling. Every time he goes through a hole he's carrying the ball with two hands close to his chest. He's never going to run comfortably carrying the ball like that.

He was quite a bit lighter last year. He bulked up too much.

Bp pretty much has ordered him to do that. He would not do it otherwise. You gotta understand that JJ doesn't wipe his butt without a detailed directive from BP. That is why he is not looking for cutbacks like he did last year.

Too much extra weight that I think he needs to lose and too much Parcells in his head. He is safe running this year when last year he was the only bright spot at the end of the year when we needed his spark.

I do think the weight trainers screwed up with JJ- too much bulk and he is nowhere near as quick as he was. HOPEFULLY that can be rectified this offseason.

Yeah, you are exactly right. He always has two hands on the ball even in the rare times when he actually breaks through the line and into the open field. I don't see how you can run freely and with some wiggle with two hands on the ball at all times. I believe he has only 1 run this season over 25 yards which is quite weak.

will get cut if he keeps listening to BP and not running fluid they way he did last year. JJ does not make the first man miss, which is a bad sign for a RB. Last year not only did the first man miss most time the 2nd did.

i said this a long time ago...he is not the same player...hurt or not hurt...he needs to run with the abandon he did last year...somehow what parcells has been preaching to him has not been understood the way he was saying it...jj doesnt lk like a real smart guy...look what he did today at the end of the game!

ANd yet if he starts to do that BP will bench him. No win scenario there.

JJ is plenty smart enough- BUT BP has him totally under his thumb. And I cannot understand how BP CANNOT see how much he is costing JJ- he is not the threat he was last year- and most of that responsibility is BP pretty much keeping him on the leash.

...for decreased ability is his bulikng up then the coach and the traniers are to blame for that.

But how could they have known it would have effected his game so much?

The RB position is a physical one where the player takes a constant pounding and your career is one of the shortest. Bulking up to take the pounding is a natural solution, the question alwasy is. "To what degree?". They couldn't have known in advance.

As an aside, Tiki Barber's training regimen was highlighted in Sport Illustrated this fall in the NFL issue. He made a conscious decision to go to a heavy wieght regimen to bulk and strengthen up. He seems to have done not badly with that approach.

Yes, because Parcells clearly knows nothing about coaching RBs.

I'm sorry if we questioned BP(homer) It is true jj has not run with reckless abandonment since last year. BP has simply taken away this kids god given ability to run fluidly. Everyone knows that BP has to have it his way and his way is old and decrepted. Just look at the stupid called run plays with 8 or 9 men in the box it is ridiculous!

I'm pretty sure Julius just can't simply "shake and bake" at will and automatically break Osi's tackle just because he's a lineman. That dude is fast and big, he was bringing down Julius no matter what.

It' unfortunate and I was holding off on saying JJ isn' the same because of the fact his offseason tutoring by BP and others could have been positive for JJ. Though 12 games into this season, I unfortunately feel it has hurt his game. Damn, why couldn' they just tell JJ to hold onto the ball, like Tiki does. No more fumbleitis for Tiki and he' improved his game immensely.

Julius LOST weight during the offseason. They were talking about it during training camp.
