In ten days we will begin to know what the board for Dallas may look like when we are on the clock whether at 58 or earlier or later. From the knowledge we have gathered over the last few months have given clues or fakes or misleads or false rankings and that is why mock drafts are so crazy to do or read.

Based on what Dallas has done in the past and what we know on McClay, we have this. The Dallas board has no more than 18 rated as 1st round talent and this year if we are to believe many, there isn't but 11 rated as first round talent. What does it mean for Dallas, well two things, one is there is a lot of Day 2 talent going in the first round and two if one of those 11 fall to 58 then you can and will see Dallas take that guy regardless of where he plays. Based on previous items on and from the Cowboys, I seriously doubt there is a QB or CB or S in those 11 heck even 18 guys on their board.

What we know from past drafts is there will be 5 maybe 6 quarterbacks taken in the top 64 as well as at least 5 OT types and 4 OG types and maybe just 1 OC. As to RB, really be surprised if there is more than 2 taken in the top 64. With TE being pretty deep this year, we could see 4 or 5 go top 64. And WR, well maybe only 1 in the 1st round and 3 or 4 in the second round, there just isn't any sure fire WR1 in this draft.

On defense, LB will see 6 in the top 64, Edge will see 9 and DL other will see at least 12 and CB at least 5 more likely 6 and S probably 3 or 4 and would be surprised if more than 1 safety went in the first round. There will be trades for guys we do not expect to go 1st or 2nd round heck even 3rd round, always is.

You can see by the changing boards that some are rising some are sinking but none of us know what any team's board looks like. Guys will be devalued over the next 10 days because of past problems, athleticism, scheme fit, attitude and certainly medical. A guy like J. Simmons appears to be an easy top 10 guy but due to the ACL will either go late 1st or probably top to middle 2nd. Always happens and will always happen with injuries.

Even a guy most think Dallas will take in Deebo Samuel or Taylor Rapp orJuan Thornhill or Dawson Knox will end up going a round lower than any want to believe because in Samuel's case it is about health and staying on the field, in Thornhill will be the skinny legs and can he hold up, in Rapp case many teams will see him only as a box safety or more LB type, and in Knox case will be lack of production and is he only a workout warrior.

We all think Dallas may move up in the draft and they may but I do believe moving down is also a huge possiblity. Whether any of us want to believe or not, most of the guys that really know think this is a poor draft except for DL guys but you still draft.

To me, I could see Dallas attempting to get a couple of extra 3rd this year and hang on to their 2nd, how, who knows but 3rd and 4th rounds are critical this year as is the crop of UDFAs where this year is the year to find those hidden gems. Awwwww, 10 days just 10 days.

Would love to know what players they're targeting at 58 and how they rank them.

Think u can easily assume Dallas is looking at S, TE, DL, WR at 58

And actually in that order

Aren’t we usually seeing more mock drafts from reporters at this time?
