So far...lately the front office has been about 100%.

Based on the previous seasons:

Releasing Terry Glenn last year (no one else went after him, not even BP),

Hurd is probably as good as 4 or 5 as anyone has,

Austin a steal out of a small school with an incredibale TD/Reception average,

Crayton (if he could just shut the ---- up) a decent slot guy,

and one would even have to put 82 in this catagory.

The only reach seems to be Isiah at this point

Now, this is a listing of their OLD roles, and ones with TO on the field. But they have been okay. So, I will trust that Roy Williams will be able to produce and that the others can step up in their roles as this office expects...

Damn I hope their right...

And we have come to the crossroads.

Will Isaiah Stanback be healthy and develop a role on the team or will another injury surface and give consideration to ending his stay in Big D?

I think he can be a contributor if healthy, but will that shoulder stay in it's socket?

I wonder if I'm the only one that wouldn't be surprised if Stanback broke out this year. I see no reason why he shouldn't be at least as good as Miles. He's just as big and fast, probably quicker, and has better instincts when the ball is in his hands. He's a good kid who works really hard. If he stays healthy, I expect him to be a good player for us, even this year.

Stupid Minnesota Vikings......if they just leave Brian Robison on the board, we get him instead of Stanback.

Im expecting something from him as well.

3rd year rule and none of us know how good or bad he was in practice

He is a hard worker and i'll be surprised if he isn't a standout in camp.

I'm in the crowd that thinks this young, relatively unproven receiving depth is going to step up.

I think Roy Williams is a legitimate #1 in this league. Wasn't Rick Gosselin even saying before the trade that he was a better player than Plaxico Burress, according to Goose's sources.

Crayton is really solid. I think everyone wants him to shut up so badly that they forget he's a solid, solid player.

Austin is the biggest wild card because of his huge potential. But I think Stanback has the same kind of potential. I always say that if you get me a big, strong, fast guy who works hard, I'll take my chances. Both of them fit that mold.

And Sam Hurd is a nice receiver too.

Add in the other weapons at other positions, and I think this offense is still scary. Maybe even more versatile than they have been too.

Williams/Crayton/Austin/Hurd/Stanback ....all this says to me is that I hope Garrett focuses the offense around Barber/Choice/Jones

Unfortunately we play tackle in this league so Stanglass may just be the odd man out. Especially if we draft a WR on the first day.

The coaching staff said he was at Miles Austin's '07 level in training camp last August and he did log two receptions in week one in his only receiver work.

Isaiah Stanback has delayed shoulder surgery in each of his two seasons with the Cowboys in order to continue practicing and learning his new position.

I hope he can stay healthy, but some players just end up snake bit that way.

This is the critical year, if Stanback can stay healthy, I still full expect him to be a find. He is the one guy on our roster (other than Roy Williams), that truely does have legit #1 WR potential, IMHO. But, he has had even more injury issues than Miles Austin. If he gets hurt again, I expect us to cut ways and start over next year with someone else.

Some have laughed when I mentioned the coaching staff comparing Isaiah Stanback's level at camp last year to wear Miles Austin was in '07, but I thought it was very encouraging.

Stanback is learning a new position in the NFL and seemingly making progress.

The injuries have been frustrating, but he has practiced the majority of both season nonetheless. If Izzy can just put the injuries to rest, he should be ready to contribute.

I have nothing to moan about his progress as a WR, it is his history of injuries that make it difficult to make a place for him on the team. We need to look at this as an asset that has some flaws and find a replacement. We need someone who can stay on the field, add to our arsenal and game plan his talents. That has not been a feature available with him during his stay with the boys. We seem to always be adding excuse for his development, I hope he does become a Jimmy Smith but the injuries show he may not be playing for anyone in a couple of years. We almost hit on him, time to get another lottery ticket. Just my 2cents. Go Cowboys.

Brandon Tate 397 all purpose yards in one game, gain over 50 yds 4 different ways,KR,PR,Run,WR, looks like a lottery ticket to my eyes. ACL reconstruct dulls the shine.

Even a QB Coach thinks the running game needs to be a HUGE focus!

If Isaiah Stanback can't stay healthy during camp and pre-season, I don't think any of us will expect him to again make the roster.

He's going to have to earn his spot, nothing will be given based on potential or excused for injury this time around.

At this point I have more faith in Stanback stepping up this year then I do Hurd.

Stanback (aka Skyler Green) will never amount to anything. Hurd might be a #3 someday... There is a reason these guys have never done anything. Time to cut and move on...

The cowboy WR coaches and players are weak...and the recruiters must also be weak because they never see a WR in the draft they like....

Coach Ray Sherman does not strike me as weak. Where did you get that from?

You may be right about Stanback but he could play uninjured this year and do well. He has a lot more athletic talent and speed than Hurd who is a possession WR. They are just different skill sets.

You are wrong about Ray Sherman who is one of the more respected WR coaches in the NFL. We just sent a future HOF WR packing for hopefully the right reasons all of which are not him being a cancer. No lack of talent there. So the team would probably disagree with your assessment about player skills as much as I do.
