What is rigged in your life? U play a lot of carnival games or something? U a big casino gambler? Is your career in shambles because ur company is out to get you ? U think elections or rigged?

Nothing significant in my life is rigged.
You have a straw man and all debts are paid by the US Corporation yet here you are paying bills and taxes . . . Your whole life is rigged . Just too blind to see it

Absolutely. They are all driven by their own self interest first and foremost. There is no shortage of members that would salivate over taking on and exposing corruption in the NFL to further their own ambition.
No they are not driven by their "Self Interests" . . . They are driven by their Masters and the Memos that contain their talking points that they get everyday

100 percent games are fixed and many players are betting on football. With online gambling it’s very easy to bet on games, and even your own team.

Such analogy is embarrassingly elementary. Obviously resorting to personal insults is a last ditch effort when your argument had been exhausted.

There would be a major investigation with any suspected collusive tampering by officials even in an admitted entertainment sports entity.

Last time I checked billions aren’t wagered on your daytime soaps.

The NFL protected by antitrust laws and tax exempt status would fall under scrutiny by congressional oversight committee. And why the integrity of the game is of the utmost priority of the league regardless of its “ entertainment “ designation.
Blah blah blah. . . ENTERTAINMENT . . . Blah blah blah . . . Scripted . . . Blah blah blah . . . Not a Sport . . . blah blah blah . betting on.an outcome that can be manipulated based upon the Will of the "Directors" & "Producers" not the performance of the Athletes.

The Refs and Players are Freemasons which means they give an oath of loyalty to themselves which includes the mandatory obligation of lying to anyone not a Freemason..

(That's why America can't have anything nice . . . Because of scum bag Freemasons)

with online gambling you can bet at any point during the game . . . and They have Quantum Computers crunching the numbers to assure they come out on top.

Also remember most bets are combination bets like parlays. . . 1 or 2 major upset cancels out all those tickets

Maybe it's because the powers that be knew that the Cowboys fan base would stand the longest while other teams got new Stadiums, built the economies of their cities, and built their fan base.
Look how fast the rams won a Super Bowl after the moved back to LA. They know there is no fan base for pro football in LA so they had to have a winner quick.

The Internet provides anyone with a keyboard here a voice it doesn’t translate to anything with substance or validity supported with sound evidence which can introduce an investigation of the league or prosecute any official.

It’s pure sour grapes over poor and inconsistent officiating when their team loses . In other words pure rubbish.

If you want to believe the NFL is fake football then why are you here?

I wholeheartedly disagree with the sentiment of this note. I’ve been hearing variations of this NFL conspiracy theories for the 40 years I have been watching the NFL and have never seen any evidence of this kind of top level conspiracy to manipulate games, outcomes, etc.

I’m not so close minded to think it’s impossible, however, very much in the camp of “prove it”…

in my experience people I know who believe the NFL is rigged believe most other aspects of life are “rigged” as well….
I dont think theres widespread top level conspiracies but I do believe there are more than a few Tim Donaghy's in the mix

The Rams front office actually did everything possible to assemble a Super Bowl winning team, as Cowboy fans were just not used to that

Intended or not, you can see how referees can -and do- affect the outcome of ball games and can control point spreads, who wins and loses, even how long it takes for the winning team to score the winning score.
I've always said that it's naive to think that billionaires would leave their fortunes to chance.
So many of us watched the WWF. We knew it was fake, but who didn't love tuning in to watch Rick Flair, Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Sting, and the rest? The athletic abilities of the wrestlers and their showmanship put a legitimate entertainment product in the arenas. Even though we knew the results were pre-determined, we tuned in and enjoyed the show, and so many were riled up, ready to fight over the results.
Now the NFL has become a multi - trillion dollar business. The advertising dollars are huge. The economies of NFL cities are fueled by the tourism, ticket sales, and all of the other ways that money is generated from having an NFL franchise.
Television advertisers were getting upset over blow-outs that caused fans to turn the channel and miss their commercials during the second halves of games that no longer were a contest. So now it seems that EVERY prime time game is decided by one score, and often in the final seconds. Even if it is a last place team vs a first place team, the game remains close through the third quarter, with the first place team putting it out of reach during the fourth quarter.
At one time there was talk of stopping the Monday Night Football games because so many of those games had become dull, boring affairs between mismatched opponents, as the injuries mounted and lesser skilled teams fell away as the season progresses. Now there's Sunday night and Thursday night games that go down to the wire, often settled on the last play of the game.
The NFL wants you to believe that it's because of "parity" in the league, but is it really about "parody"? Is something rotten in the game Americans have grown to love?
And now, with the NFL encouraging gambling, it becomes another reason for games to finish close to the point spreads.
The recent loss by the Cowboys to Green Bay keeps an audience in a top NFL fan base believing just a little bit longer(Green Bay), and the win makes those fans feel that their team is still one of the best. Multiply that by the number of losing franchises and you can see how much money is lost if fans lose interest.
So be careful betting on football. Those of us who have watched the NFL for 50+ years know that there is no such thing as parity in a league filled with so many different philosophies from team to team, and with leadership that varies so much in talent and what they hope to accomplish.
The NFL won on Thanksgiving, with ad revenue and sales getting a record audience.
Remember; the NFL is a business, It's not always the most talented who get the breaks.
It's what's best for business.

That is an absolutely spot-on post although you will be attacked by people that say you believe in a conspiracy theory and where a tin foil hat.

They just don't understand that the league manipulates this game for maximum revenue it isn't baseball or basketball or hockey where there's a million games you have a short window to make the money.

And money can't be made with games that are blowouts and people turning the TV off.

That's why the holding penalty is 10 yards it can be called on any play and it's a drive stopper if you take note the primetime games go into halftime close and stay close and like you say open up at the end or not and have a last second ending.

But there is nothing legitimate in anything where that much money is involved and anyone who would believe that is just very naive

Ah yes…”The NFL hates the Cowboys and wants them to lose by using bad refs” conspiracy…from a league that can’t accurately define a catch or coordinate the removal of Dan Snyder. But I’m sure they can pull off having dozens of referees all work in prefect harmony together to screw the Cowboys…and then never leak a word of it.

SMH.
The refereeing in the league isn't corrupt, it's just inept. Both are bad but very different!

The speed of the game doesn't help as i often make my "hugely informed" judgement from my sofa during the play only to see the replay and think, oops!

The lack of professional, full time officials is mind blowing for the NFL and would help. Repetition in life helps us get better, they would benefit.

The other thing is accountability. The NFL needs to come out after contested decisions and say we got it right because of xyz or.....say yes, mistake made

Corruption, eh .......no.

The root of the problem is the refs union.

They've slowed the development of replay drastically over the years.

The replay officials are not in the union.

The on field refs hate being overruled by the replay officials.

The reasons the union is bad are endless.

College officiating is better.

The most important aspect and vital commodity for this multi billion dollar industry is Integrity of the game.

This notion by some fans that controversial calls by officiating that there’s some type of organized collusion underway with officials throwing the games is totally unfounded.

Not one single case is the NFL has ever disclosed an organized illegal activity to throw games . Not one single investigation. Not one whistleblower .

Amazing with instant access we have in todays media tech business. It has to be the greatest coverup in America sports history over 100 years now. Or just some sour grape fans frustrated with poor and inconsistent officiating.
Offials making mistakes has always happened. They are human but now it’s replayed in slow motion and clips distorting what actually happened get spread around and makes fans think something is fixed
Nfl owners make money off gambling no matter who wins. They are making bets on games, their money is guaranteed no matter who wins or loses and it’s spread around the league so it’s evenly distributed between teams
Everything is a conspiracy these days

One thing i noticed is how fast, or slow....refs spot the ball. Sometimes, even downfield....they can have it ready for center in a couple seconds. Other times they stare at each other.

Either fixing or incompetence. Both?

Just imagine how much power and money the NFL is accumulating with nearly every NFL franchise able to demand a domed stadium from the cities they play in for fear that franchise would leave.
They get favorable terms and tax dollars handed to them on a silver platter. They are instant royalty, and in position to assert influence on all kinds of matters.
With gambling on their plate, they have encircled a variety of venues, players, and businesses and drawn them into their fold. It's evolving right in front of our eyes, but where it will go they don't even know.

That’s an interesting point about the ref unions vs replay guys…But college officiating better? Have you seen a Big 12 game this year? Lol. Not sure about college refs being better.

IMO, the biggest problem with officiating is the game is over regulated by the NFL. Having watched NFL games for 5+ decades, the games 30-40 years ago were much better officiated than today because of these simple reasons:
  1. They had far less rules to officiate.
  2. There was much less expected of refs. Todays fans expect near perfection and as long as humans are making the calls, there will be errors. TV replays show much more of the game’s intricate action than years ago.
  3. Offensive holding used to be much easier to spot because you weren’t able to use your hands at all to block until the late 70s. Nowadays, players are allowed to use hands much more freely which makes holding much more difficult to call accurately.
Bottom line for me on officiating- I think the game is way over regulated. When the guys in stripes get as much air time as the star players it’s bad for the game. The NFL rules committee IMO has made officiating way too difficult.

If there isn’t confidence from the gambling industry and personal wagering these games aren’t being officiated without collusion then it will affect its legitimacy and ultimately the volume of business.

The validity and integrity of the game is the leagues most important priority. And until there is some proven evidence otherwise this notion from conspiracy theory advocates will carry very little weight.

Fake Football would not carry the same meaningful importance of todays multi billion dollar industry. Much like WWE and wrestling. There would still be some interest but not to the level it is today.

But obviously there would be some interest as these Conspiracy Theorist still have interest in Fake Football .

Maybe we need to define legitimate?

Power, money, leverage and manipulate influence are all part of a legitimate business.

Who’s doing what and why?
The nfl is sports entertainment, like wrestling. Scripted for the best outcome/revenue. Been proven in court already if you followed such things.

Being defined as “ sports entertainment “ only protected the league from liability in court. It didn’t define it as Fake Football like Wrestling.
