They tried to give me $10 off and I said that makes no difference.

They then asked what would make me keep it and I said how about $150 off, thinking they would say no way. She talked to her supervisor and they okayed the discount so I kept it for one more year.

Now, I've had Sunday Ticket for about 8 straight years and I've had Directv since you had to buy the dish at Circuit City and first try and install it yourself before they would send someone out. I'm sure that made a big difference but I'm going to do this every year until they say no. At that point its gone. Maybe by then, you will be able to get it on a per team basis for much less.

I did the same last year. I called to cancel and they gave me superfan for free and 100.00 off. They also gave me showtime for free for 6 months. Showtime sucks but at least they did give me something.

I heard Sunday Ticket is going up again this year, so I will have to call and do it again.

My luck I would do that and they would say, "thanks for your business, goodbye"

I had direct tv for years and years. For Cowboys games only. LOVED IT. Thing is, even up here in good ole Wisconsin I get to watch anywhere from 10-13 Cowboys games a year on regular cable. Couldnt justify paying for it anymore. That and I finally found a foolproof, no buffering, excellent picture quality source for viewing the few games I dont get on tv online. Not lettin that info out till the season though...;)

I remember being soooooooo ticked off the very 1st year I had it. It was Switzers 1st year in Dallas. Back then the units sold for over 800 bucks! So I hook it all up, start watching games, and guess what??????? ALL 16 GAMES were shown up here on regular cable!!!

Having sunday ticket for 8 years had nothing to do with it.

I did that last year (only had directv for 1 year) and got $150 off w/ superfan for free. And I'm pretty sure if I kept pushing, I could have gotten more.

They seem to be aware that their product (Sunday Ticket) is so wildly overpriced that they are willing to take $150 off so why not just lower the damn price period down to the realm of reality and increase sales? I'd like to get it but I don't see them giving me that kind of discount. :laugh2:

I think I saw all but one game last year. It just isn't worth the $$$ to me anymore.

I think thats the case almost everywhere. We've gotten all but 2-4 Cowboys game every year here in Virginia and thats the reason I decided to finally cancel it. Next year and every year after that I will tell them I'm only willing to pay $100 for the few games I will miss. When they say no, I will cancel it and watch online, at a sports bar, or at a friends house who has it.

The NFL is like Paulie from Goodfellas... They don't care how DirectTV gets the money!

Btw... Nice facebook thread!

Here in Los Angeles I think only one, maybe two games werent televised last year. On those odd weeks Justin TV even with a bad feed is much more cost effective.

trust me, direct tv always loses in the game of "chicken" (technically they win because the make soooo much even win they give discounts, but you know what I mean).

I had DirectTV and NFL Ticket/SuperFan installed at my moms so that my disgustingly well off father can pay for it.

Thanks Dad :D
