First of all, I fully acknowledge that Wade is a solid football coach and I'm confident that he'll lead the team to a bunch of wins this year. However, I don't trust him to lead the team to a superbowl birth, let alone a championship. IMO, last year's debacle was an indictment of his ability to lead and coach a team through adversity.

It wasn't so much that we lost crucial games down the stretch, as much as it was the way in which we lost them. The team clearly lacked motivation and played with literally no purpose. This is a direct reflection of the head coach. As much as many of us would like to, we cannot blame that shameful finish all on TO. Believe me, I sincerely hope that I'm not right and he proves me and many others with this belief wrong. I'll glady eat this crow any way it's served.

I'm guessing you're referring to that look he gives during the middle of games when things are going wrong?

That "What in the world dazed and confused" look?

Yeah I hate that too.

Who woulda thunk that a coach could overcome:

3 games lost by their starting QB
Losing their first and second string LG
Losing their #1 RB and then getting him back for 23 carries in 5 games
Having your LT hurt for most of the season
Losing your #2 runningback
Losing your starting SS
Losing your #1 CB for a good set of games
Losing your all-world punter
Losing your back-up safeties on and off for games during the season

Did I miss anything? Surely Holmgren or "Insert Your Pet Cat Coach's Name Here" could have done better?

The * ever.

Great coaches and great teams fight through injuries and adversities, look at the patriots last year. They lost their star qb, probably the best qb in the business and still won 11 games. Imo Wade even with all those things you mentioned should of atleast with the talent they had left made the playoffs so say all you want, it looks like a bunch of excuses too me to not make the playoffs.

Honestly the bottom fell out after the Pitt game. That is a game we HAD TO HAVE. for so many reasons..

1. we started to gain momentum "in december"
2. defense playing awesome
3. trying to shake December "ghosts"
4. confidence beating an excellent team on the road

The way we lost that game imo directly effected the Baltimore game which directly effected the Eagles debacle. Please don't believe Philly was 38 points better than us.

Wade didn't lose that Pitt game.

I did look at the Pats, A SB caliber team not just a playoff team and failed to make the post season in a division that has the Dolphins, Jets and Bills.

Lack of trust duly noted.

Please note that I also generally do not trust insurance salesmen, carnivale folk and guidos.

Of course injuries can have a big affect, that does not make last season any less of a disappointment because this team still should have played better than they did even with the injuries we were dealing with. The coaches and players share in this disappointment and are trying to correct the mistakes of last year

Well, since training camp has begun and Wade Phillips is still the coach, what would you propose to do about this lack of trust?

I agree with some of what you're saying here.

1) Wade has an excellent record as a HC, yet hasn't won a playoff game.

2) He brings a lot to the table as our DC (can't undeestimate the value of that), yet you have to question his ability to motivate players and instill discipline.

You know one thing that gets over looked and shouldn't. It's his game day management.

I'll use Reid as a comparitive. He's consider one of the best HCs in the game nationally and for the most part locally.
Yet he's terrible in game day management with respect to the simpler things.
Clock management throughout the game and especially in the two min drill has to have been the worst in football this decade.
They are forever burning timeouts because they cant get plays in on time. And they've bungled more two min drills than can be remembered.

For all this talk of how Wade looks like an idiot on the sidelines, I seldom see concrete examples of this in the decisions he makes.

Just curious to see if people know without having to look it up.

How many championships did Don Shula win as HC?

How many did Tom Landry Win as HC?

How many did George Allen, Marv Levy, or Bud Grant win as HCs?

In 33 years as a HC Don Shula's teams won 2 championships.

In 29 years as a HC Tom Landry's teams won 2 championships.

In a combined 47 years Allen/Levy/Grant won ZERO championships as HCs.

Phillips is with his 5th team as HC and took 3 of them to the playoffs. He has been here for all of 2 years so let's see what he can do before we make ridiculous claims about what he can't do. So far he's done better than Parcells did while he was here.

Where do these people come from and why are they allowed to claim to be fans of MY team? :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Missed that thee #1 receiver was getting jammed and having trouble getting open --and our QB was never right or protected the last of the season

Wow in a division that has Miami, NY Jets and Buffalo? Pats went from SB team to not in the playoffs 11-5 in the AFC east is nothing to write home about
