So was Trent Richardson. He was "the next Adrain Peterson" too. Until he wasn't.

Trent Richardson was a better prospect than Derrick Henry, but he's nowhere near the class of Elliott. Richardson couldn't catch, block, or wiggle. Much like Henry, although Richardson was more compact.

Who said that?

He's a complete back who is built compactly and can play three downs. He's the only one like that in this draft. He is truly elite in that respect.

We'll see if he is in the pros, just like anybody Dallas takes at #4, right?

Take a look at that claim and maybe you'll see how far you've fallen into this thing. Honestly...

You're worried about guaranteed money on a 20-year-old running back who is considered the best of his class?

LOL

Sure if the data is accurate that TBs have short shelf lifes and take the wear and tear that analysis has shown they take. Absolutely?

You seem to think that being 20 somehow means there's no way he can wear down at 22 or 23 or get hurt or be on the PUP list at some point.

And once again, the point being made here is that you keep introducing evidence and points as to why Elliott is the right pick and some of it is actually inaccurate.

Henry is a straight ahead inside runner who lacks acceleration, can't catch the football, doesn't pass protect well, and wasn't used much on 3rd downs at all.

Not saying he can't learn a thing or two, but he's the prime definition of a one-trick pony.

Elliott looks like a guy that can play 8-10 years easily. Henry looks like a 3-5 year guy.

Why are you talking about Henry? You made a comment that apparently there are no TBs like Elliott in next year's draft. I questioned you on that and you went on talking about Henry.

Wut?

Yes, forfeit the pick. Exactly.

Reality is the point has been explained and you just choose to ignore it. But we'll do it again.

Every position carries a value in the NFL. QBs are paid more than kickers, OTs are paid more then OGs, DEs are paid more than MLBs, etc. Within that framework, teams build their salary structures, etc.

The moment Elliott gets picked at 4, he's a top ten paid TB. They take Bosa at 4, for example, he's now like the 35th highest paid edge player in the NFL. You can try to poo poo it but there is value associated with the salaries you pay guys. So if Bosa turns out to be a stud, for example, you have him for 5 years at a mid-level market rate. Elliott is being paid like an elite TB from the start.

And Elliott does that from the start, while Bosa is in some rotation and gets plowed over while he tries to build NFL strength and technique.

Check mate, dude. We really need to move on.

Who next year? Fournette? You mean, Demarco Murray the 2nd? Please. That guy will get pulverized by NFL players just like he did when he ran for negative yardage against Alabama.

Recommendation to all those pimping Elliott at #4, you might want to have a few boxes of tissues nearby on draft night. Or maybe have a good cry and vent the night before to get it out of your system.

The fact you think you, a guy who has been pushing some pretty false narratives, won is hilarious.

If we didn't sign Alford I would be all on this. I just don't see it with backs like McFadden and Alford on the roster.

It's either Zeke or Ramsey if they stay put. I guess I'm going to resign myself to that; both will be great players and will make the Cowboys a better football team.

My biggest concern is them (Cowboys) taking a QB in the 2nd or 3rd who will never impact the football team. I'd rather have defensive (DT/DE) or offensive (WR) playmakers in those rounds.

And yet their stats were virtually identical over their final college campaigns? Amazing how a bum and the greatest to ever play the position could have virtually identical numbers.

We weren't good enough in 2014 so I in no way want to replicate the 2014 team

I'll take 12-4 the next 5 or 6 years, even if it means we want be quite good enough. #theneedycantbegreedy

The fact that you are obsessed with guaranteed money on 20-year-old running backs is truly hilarious. This team clearly needs an elite back to function as built offensively.

I want an Emmitt Smith for this new version of the 90s offensive line. Right now we've got a couple of Ford Tauruses running on a Ferrari chassis. It has its limitations.

Great work, but you know they're going to avoid this post like the plague, right?

Alabama running backs don't get touched for five yards, and they're not asked to do ANYTHING in the passing game. That's why Alabama backs are so average in the NFL.

Mark Ingram. Eddie Lacy. Trent Richardson.

I expect Derrick Henry to be just one of those guys. If that's the case, just keep McFadden and don't bother.

Just like they did last year, right? When despite having no quarterback or receiver to speak of, this offensive line helped a broken down bust, with one foot out of the league, become the league's #4 rusher. "This team clearly needs an elite back to function".

:lmao:

#4 running back in 2015, plus a former 1,600 yard back added.

Yep, cupboard is bare, whatever will we do?

I addressed it.

Yes, you get Bosa at a mid-level rate while you wait for him to get good by the time Romo retires. In the meantime, he's just another Lawrence or Gregory trying to get raise his game to just an average NFL level. Defensive ends take time, as do safeties.

So you get a "bargain" at the position on a guy who makes ZERO impact. Or, you can pay a premium for a guy who is an elite player four months from now.
