If you had to make a decision TODAY on who you would want to be the starting Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys NEXT YEAR, who would it be:

1. Drew Bledsoe
2. Philip Rivers
3. Steve McNair
4. Tony Romo
5. Drew Henson
6. Brett Favre
7. Future Draft Pick

Bledsoe, but I would trade up for a good draft pick in the first round for a promising qb. I would use Bledsoe as the mentor figure for the new draft pick.

wow, i still have to take bledsoe out of the above.
Maybe McNair over bledsoe, not sure how much longer McNair can play though.

Thing with Bledsoe, he hasnt really gotten worse so its not like his age is the problem. Its just that he doesnt feel a pass rush until someone actually has a hand on him.

Bledsoe.

I am not a big Bledsoe fan or anything like that. Wasn't too sure of what to expect with him. If Romo or Henson step up I will be fine with that and am actually hoping they will. I love developing home grown talent. (I consider Henson home grown because he didn't play for Houston) I just don't see Parcells turning over the reigns to either one.

I didn't like Rivers at NC State and don't like his prospects in Dallas. Just too much uncertainty to trade picks to get.

McNair and Favre are done. Their best days are past. The same may be said for Bledsoe, but he is already here. They would cost extra and really at this point won't be better. That ends up just throwing money at the problem.

I would love to draft a QB. They won't be in position to get the big names. I always liked the philosophy that you draft a QB in every draft. But even with that, I wouldn't expect them to start.

I just want to get a young QB in here that we can develop and watch lead our team for the next 10 years. I'm sick of trading off old QB's year after year and not knowing which it will be next.

bledsoe, he will be more comfortable with this offense next year and the O-line can only get better. Now get another playmaker around him!

I really dont care who it is, so long as hes good. I voted for Bledsoe just cause we already got him and hes ready to go. Rivers would be cool if we could swing it. A draft pick would be cool too.

Absolute best case scenario would have to be Henson, followed closely by Romo.

If Henson's starting next season that means that he finally gets it and Dallas has a "franchise" QB to build around. The same could be said for Romo but he simply doesn't have the physical talent that Henson does.

Favre, McNair .... whomever else merely delays the inevitable, growing with a young QB, much like how the Testaverde and Bledsoe experiments have hurt Dallas in the long run.

I'd have to see Romo and/or Henson in training camp before officially picking them, but I'd like to see Bill hand the reigns over.

I wouldn't be shocked if Romo got the call, especially if our offense plays like this here on out. Bill seems to really like the kid.

To be honest, I didn't want Bledsoe. I wanted Johnson but having said that, I would rather Bledsoe be here next year. However, I would like to see a viable replacement drafted or named. If it's Romo or Henson fine but I'm not talking about a guy who is just here to hold a clip board in name sake only. I mean real development of a young QB.

Exactly how I made my decision.

I would much rather already have the guy for the long run already on the team and signed than spend money or a draft pick, or both to acquire another retread or another unproven commodity.

I will also say that I'd want a QB exactly like Bledsoe as my backup regardless. I do trust the guy, I just want to build for the future. The long term means more.

Bledsoe = not building towards the future.

Favre & McNair = not building towards the future & spending FA money when other holes could be addressed.

Phillip Rivers = cost of draft picks & possibly cash. He is just as unproven as Henson, Romo, or a 2006 Draft pick.

Henson has more upside than Romo, but I'll support either guy who gets it done.

I do want to draft a QB in 2006, but the best scenario remains we already have the guy getting ready. The Draft pick is for the future. Keep the best 3 guys and play ball.
