Just for fun: How would you call next week's game?

Just my opinion....

Offense: Pull a page out of Mike Leach's playbook. Go with somewhat of a spread that involves Romo operating out of the shotgun more times than not, with 3/4/5 wide sets. That forces Seattle to go deep into their horribly depleted secondary and also will give Romo a lot of opportunities to run out of the pocket where he is most dangerous. Throw in a delayed draw to barber/Jones every now and then, maybe a few misdirection runs out of 3+ wide sets, etc. Force an injured defense to spread out and play the run, the pass, and the running QB every play.

Defense: Blitz early, blitz often, blitz all day. Hasslebeck WILL eat us up if we try and play coverage, so why force a few sacks and turnovers along the way by blitzing? We're gonna give up some big plays either way, might as well put pressure on them along the way. Also, use RW as your main blitzer off the edge and on delayed blitzes. Show a vlitz from Ayodele or Carp, then drop them back deep in place of Roy and have Roy come up on the blitz. It doesnt have to be elaborate, just force them to choose between a LB and a safety and hope they choose wrong.

I actually like this idea. You should go.

You would do better than the clowns on the sidelines right now.

What is sad is that they won't come out doing anything different. It will be the same sad story with the same sad outcome.

I seriously hope Jerry wipes the floor with the coaching staff this offseason. I want all of them gone.

hilarious!!

I would call it a disaster.
I would call it a nationally televised embarrassment.
I would call it a long trip back home and a long off season.
I would call it another reason that some coaches get their pink slip.
I could go on and on but I won't. I will spare everybody.

I like all of what you're saying, especially the defensive gameplan. When you have Mike Furrey, a receiver who just shredded your secondary this week, speculating in the locker room after the game about how exactly Seattle will attack the Cowboys defense next week, you know you've hit an unprecedented level of predictability.

If I were Zimmer, I'd have been in Parcells's ear 5 minutes after the game about taking this approach. Zimmy has to know he's on his way out, especially with him being as much of a paranoid worry wart as he has admitted he is. The only glimmer of hope he has of preserving some sort of cred at this point for a job next season somewhere is to have this defense somehow turn around significantly and at least help this team get to the NFC Championship.

We can score with anyone... we need to go into playoffs with "shootout" mentality... playing not to lose wont work...

after reading that their top 3 cornerbacks might miss the game, it would be smart to spread them out with 5 wide.

Just because Mike Leach's Red Raiders embarass A&M regularly doesn't mean it will work against a pro team, sorry, I suspect this is why you want Bob Stoops to leave Oklahoma so bad and come to Dallas as well.

Even with the injury to Trufant I still feel their secondary is the best part of that D. Mainly because of the Defensive scheme Ray Rhodes runs.

I really hope we try to establish the run early in the game with Barber than switch it up with JJ, get them both involved early then work of that with playactions and misdirections etc etc... I believe we can catch JULIO Peterson being overly aggressive coming off the edge. Plus Wistrom isnt good against the run.

Offense
Well, Jones tore up Seattle a few years ago and Marion Barber had moderate success in a loss last year so we should pound the ball with our two-headed attack like when we were winning. Seattle gets to the QB quite a bit, so it is imperative that we run the ball well. I would say draws to the left and tosses to the right.

Defense
Seattle is pretty vulnerable to the sack. I think our pass rush this weekend was a test-run for Seattle. We got the the QB early but then trailed off. We really rotated our guys, which to me signified that we were testing the pash rush abilities of the different lineups. I would hope that Coleman gets more snaps, but we'll see. James should not be in coverage. He should be blitzing up the middle or something, possibly warming the bench.

There's so many things we could do, and it's too early in the morning to get into all of them. I honestly believe that Detroit was a test run for Seattle. Parcells mentioned that they were going to take a look at Seattle film some this last week, so it's almost like we were expecting them all along. Detroit is very similar to Seattle so hopefully we learned a few things.
