I'm reading some of the threads and it appears people were down on Romo. Maybe it appeared differently on television, but in person it looked like he had an incredible day. He had the INT in the endzone, but TO simply gave up on the ball. Yes, it was a bad throw, but my god he had so many incredible plays in that game. That was perhaps his most impressive performance in my opinion.

What's the deal? Did it look that much different on television?

I'll post more thoughts on the game tomorrow, because tonight I'm exhausted. Drove for about 8+ hours today.

I didn't think Romo had a bad game at all considering he had no running game and no time to throw.

It looked like our defense was one big bag of suck

I'll post my reactions from the stadium tomorrow. Like I said, I'm exhausted right now. Just wanted to get a quick read of the board's thoughts on Romo's play.

I thought Romo played fine. It was obviously the defense that was the problem.

Did you notice any problems that we couldn't see on TV? Scheme problems? Or maybe sideline problems? What were the guys' reactions like on the bench?

Stat wise he was poor.

But in the first half, i think most people agree that he played well. He didnt start to struggle until we abanded the run game, and Romo tried to force a few throws to get us back in the game

Looking foward to it.

BTW, I didn't think Romo had a bad game. Not one of his best but considering he led the team in rushing and Rivera getting biach slapped left and right, I thought Romo did alright.

Some quick thoughts:
  • Carpenter getting his arse handed to him in the second half.
  • Roy getting completely blocked out of run plays.
  • James and Ayodele playing with their thumbs up their yahoos.
  • Watkins being out of position, just sort of wandering around at times.
  • Rivera is absolutely dead to me. He could die of a heart attack tomorrow and I wouldn't bat an eyelash. Ok, kidding. I'm not that cold-hearted on Christmas (or is it still Christmas?).
  • Zero pass-rush. Zero.

When Dallas was still within 16-7, Romo played more like a guy who spent 3 1/2 years on the bench than one who earned a Pro Bowl invitation for a half-season's work.

He short-circuited the next four drives with two sacks, then two interceptions. He finished 14-of-29 for a season-low 142 yards.

I really couldn't care less about stats. Some of his plays seemed absolutely unreal. The high snap play was just uncanny. He was chased all over the place in the pocket, outside of the pocket, yet he kept coming up with huge throws (and several times were dropped).

We only handed off 5 times in the 2nd half (and only 16 times in the entire game). We became one-dimentional very quickly and it just made it easier for the Eagles to tee off on Romo. I wouldn't be too critical of him.

Seriously, though, I came away from this game thinking it was his best performance, considering what he went through. I'll have to watch the game to see the difference. Maybe people are just being down because we lost.

If we punched that in on the 1 yard line, then after the following drive, it's 14-10. At that point, it's a totally different ball game.

His performance looked the same as the Saints game.

The Cowboys fall behind due to horrid defensive play and our coaches abandon any semblance of a gameplan, making horrible play calls and putting Romo and the offense in bad situations where they were predictable and vulnerable to the blitz.

Just like in the Saints game, we abandoned the run against a poor run defense and put it all on Romo's shoulders with predictable pass plays. We didn't get T.O. involved, we didn't establish the run, and we couldn't convert opportunities into points (the Henry INT). We put it all on Romo's shoulders and while he did his job and made plays the rest of the team let him down. The offensive line was a joke and the defense laid an egg AGAIN. T.O. once again drops a crucial pass and made no effort on the ball on the Dawkins INT.

Romo is a great player but he can't do it all by himself. He does his job every week but the rest of the team lays down.

Stats dont mean anything... but points do and we only got 7.. whether thats on Romo or not.

I think even if the game was still being played we'd only have 7. Thats just as much or more disconcerting to me as the defense.

This tells me right here that it looked totally different on television. His performance looked in no way shape or form like the Saints game.

If we had called 4 straight pass plays instead of run plays Romo would have scored on the 1. If the O-line wouldn't have made ridiculous penalities and let open the flood gates, several drives would have been different.

On one of the sacks, Rivera literally fell to the ground without hardly being touched.

How did he look different in person?

Like I've said three times now, I came away thinking it was his best performance. He made numerous incredible plays. He was perfectly on target all night.
