Just heard this morning about the Cowboy coaching search...

Heard on the Houston local sport radio show from a good source that it will be indeed Norv Turner as HC, J. Garrett as QB/OC coach and Ron Rivera as DC/Asst. HC for the new Cowboy coaching staff and it will be announced tomarrow or Wednesday the latest.

Not really surprising they way it seems to be unfolding. But the Cowboys havent even talked to Rivera yet (as far as I know), so its a reach to say it is a done deal.

If thats true, I like the Garrett and Rivera connection, but the Turner HC thing bothers me. I hope he has changed and is going to be a better head coach. Time will tell.

Sigh, I just want someone that can judge talent. I'm not aware of any of these guys ability to judge talent like the way Landry, Johnson, and Parcells could... If they can't, trouble looms in the Cowboys future.

IMO i think it had to do more with how the chicago offense did not adjust to the colts defense...the bear's O was totally inept last night..if you stop jones/benson, you have a great shot to win the game and the colts did it

Yeah, I guess he should have played right into Manning's trap and bring all the safties up so that Manning could burn them over the top, like he was waiting to do all game. They were down by two at the half, so I can see your point.????? Then they could have lost 41-17.

Thanks for the welcome! Being a Cowboy fan has been passed down from generation to generation in my family. My dad grew up watching Bob Lilly and Bob Hayes as a teen and I grew up watching Dorsett and Randy White in my early years and later the Tripletts in my late teens, so I love the Cowboys!

As far as the radio report, I do think it is credible report. The reporter that mentioned it has been pretty good at reporting info, so I do think it could be a done deal. Don't base last night's game on how good Rivera will be as a defensive coach. He will do a great job in Big D and say what you want about Turner as a HC, but he does know how to run a great offense and with Garrett there, Romo will continue his improvement as a QB. We should be excited about this!

I know it's against NFL rules, but do you all honestly think that Rivera hasn't had ANY contact from JJ and the Cowboy staff??? I'm sure maybe even Turner has spoken to Rivera at some point this weekend?

Well...what is funny is that this speculation is really nothing new.

I mean even if the source is gold...or just mud...they are not going out very far on a limb to predict this one.

I just cant be convinced at this point that this is a done deal.

Maybe Rivera will want to return and give it another shot, maybe Norv wants to prove he has more to offer, I just remain skeptical.
