And this isn't the first time I heard him do this but he bragged about the brands popularity. This summer he was at a speaking engagement and he bragged about the Cowboys being the most popular team in sports in America. The crowd roared their approval which I just shook my head at. The popularity of the Cowboys does nothing for us as fans, it only fills JJs pockets. As fans, first and foremost, wins in the postseason should be what we applaud.

JJ went on to say the brand stays popular because the organization works hard to keep it in the forefront.

Newflash Jerry, if you put all that effort into fielding a championship team, marketing the team would take care of itself.

Agreed, but he would have to give up his hobby and cede control to a real GM first. As long as he can sell 88 jerseys and $15 beers to opposing fans, he will continue to do it his way.

it was one of the worst interviews i've ever heard from him.

and 105.3 is a clown station for that last question they asked him.

Unless and until Jerry understands the value of the running game, we will not be the team that we could be. Since he drives the direction of the team, he needs to put a boot on Callahan, Romo & Garrett's collective necks, telling them to keep the running game working throughout the entire game.

There will never be enough fans willing to Boycott Jerry to make a dent in the popularity of the team and mediocrity still works in Jerry's favor financially. We don't have to be winning SBs to be popular, just need to be somewhat relevant in last few weeks of season, which we usually are.

Jerry's brand strength seems to not be based on winning at all, it's mind-boggling for a sports franchise. It's also really funny that he would brag about it: "the idiots will pay no matter how poorly I run the team."

Do you guys have any idea how soon they put up podcasts of his show? That website is a total mess. Not even sure if they still put them on the Cowboys site or not.

Anyway, I've always said that Jerry judges himself by different criteria than we do. We judge him by the team on the field. He judges himself by his cash flow and team value. And by those two criteria, he's number one by far. So why should he ever change?

Jerry is an owner and businessman. His primary focus will always be about the bottom line. $$$$$

Jerry has destroyed this franchise. it's his play toy and he will do whatever the hell he want's with it.all he wants is for people to keep buying tickets and his food. and you people keep doing it. 1 playoff win in going on 17 years is a massive disgrace. yet you hear very little outrage from local media and fans. in fact a lot of people think it's funny. it's not funny. the cowboys being like the Oakland Raiders the last all most 2 decades is not funny. in fact it's sickening. this man would rather stay a loser, than do what's best for the Cowboys. and that is sickening.

As Chocolate Lab said we judge him by the team & he judges himself by how much money he makes off the team. He's right. There is no reason for him to change. He's making a bazillion dollars whether we win or lose.

I don't think that is necessarily true though.

Jerry wants to win badly, but doing it his own way.

The problem is his way doesn't work.

If this team was successful on the pitch, then the cash flow and team value would go through the roof.

We could rightly argue all day about the drafting and personel moves.
But anyone that is around Jerry long enough knows that his sole passion is to win another championship. This business-first stuff is off-base.
The Cowboys are always pushing the limits on max spending, so he is not cutting corners there.

The question is whether or not he is spending his money wisely. That is a legit question.

Jerry Jones on #Cowboys fans expecting more: "I don't expect them to think any differently. We push it out there. We build up expectations."
Jerry Jones asked by @rjchoppy if #Cowboys are living off their 90s brand: "No. The Cowboys are living the brand. We're making the brand."
Jerry Jones: #Cowboys offensive line has been playing well. "Tony's got plenty of time to make the throws."
Jerry Jones on Morris Claiborne: "He's just got to get his confidence up. We know what kind of player he is, what kind of athlete he is."
Jerry Jones on Dez Bryant: "He can make that catch with two people on him. You throw him the ball when he's double-covered."
Jerry Jones: "Dez is going. He's blowing and going. He's doing a great job. He's a far better player than he was at this time last year."

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr 51m
Jerry jones on radio: You might be able to get in there with 9-7 and 9-7 may win you the world championship. That's the NFL of today.
Jones on romo's Peyton manning input: He is a lot more involved. He was a lot more involved than he ever thought about being in years past.
Jerry on Romo: When you're basically serving it up, you recognize where you want to and don't want to take risks. So he's more conservative
Jerry Jones on Dez: You throw him the ball when he's double covered. He's been throwing to him when it's double coverage. You can do that.
More Jerry Jones on Romo: I like the way Romo is playing, really like the way he is playing.

I don't buy that his sole passion is winning. I just don't believe that. If he truly believed in putting the best team together & being the best he'd hire guys to make that happen beginning with stepping down as GM. He came here though & it was going to be his way or no way & he's never budged.

So at this point I think he's all about Jerry & about being the money he's making. If he wasn't making so much & the Cowboys weren't such a huge brand name he would step down. Because it would be hurting his bottom line.

He really has it made. He can play with his toy & keep making money. He's the owner. He can do whatever he wants. And he does.

Seems like people want to blame Jerry for everything but never the coaches. Nobody has ever said this team isnt talented, it lacks players. This team has the players. What gets this team is lack of fundamentals. The OL is playing better but still has wrong timed penalties. The same with Defense. Penalties at the wrong times kill drives and keep drives alive for opponents. Thats bad coaches. Not Jerry. And i had hopes of this offense changing under Callahan. But it just seems like Garrett part 2. It just seems like there are 10 plays in Garretts playbook. Def, clearly this team isnt a zone defense personel-wise. I have to believe they still have no confidence in their safeties.

BUT the biggest problem, and it has nothing to do with Jerry. None of the vets want to step up into the leader role. Romo, Witten, Ware, Hatcher, Carr, Dez. This team reminds me alot of the Dodgers at the start of the season. All the talent but no leaders. When a team punches back at the Cowboys they dont have that player who punches back. It just seems like they fold. Im starting to think this wont change until Romo Witten and Ware are gone. If i was Jerry id get rid of them and start over with some Nasty vets. Lee looks like he's going to end up as that guy but hes not there yet. The Cowboy vets have them same mentality of we just have to find whats wrong and fix it. Theres next week.

Whats disgraceful is fans who think Jerry would rather lose then win. Jerry in basically 2 yrs has remade a whole team. There are maybe 10-13 players who have been on this team more than 3 yrs. I think if this keeps going on this yr win lose win lose. Lovie Smith might be getting a call. During the season and not after
