Just missed a chance to move to no 4 and guarantee at least no 5

if we lose out.

San Diego should have beaten the Raiders but a bizarre set of circumstances fell against us.

It was probably our best chance to move up in the draft order. When picking that high ever spot is huge.

I doubt it matters. They are probably taking the Tunsil or Stanley if either are there, which they probably will be.

The Raiders are a better team than San Diego. Not surprising to me that the Chargers lost.

I don't know. My gut feeling is that San Diego goes QB if Lynch or Goff are there. The only QBs on their roster are Rivers and Clemens. Rivers is getting up there in age and is finishing his 12th season in the NFL.

If I were San Diego, I'm definitely keeping my eyes open to finding Rivers' replacement.

I highly doubt it. They just extended him to a large contract with 65 million in guarantees, he's been durable, they just spent a 1st Rd pick on a RB and have a horrible OL. Rivers needs protecting and Gordon needs holes. Maybe I could be talked into them taking one of the defensive players we may covet, but I'm not concerned in the least that they take a QB. If they were going to do that, they would have just traded Rivers for the 2nd pick last year and taken Mariota like all the rumors said they might. If Tunsil is there, I'm positive they take him, and probably take Stanley if not.

Can't argue any of that. Good call.

I could see them trading back a couple spots with San Fran or another team to ensure said team gets their QB. Teams might think we're going to take one. This all depends on how the final draft order shakes out, of course.

I could too. San Diego's top need is WR. II is probably a little early to take Treadwell so I could easily see someone trading with S.D. to jump ahead of us. Every spot is important and I was really hoping we could leap S.D. and Balt and get no 3. That one is worth 2200 points and could earn a ton of picks on multiple trades.

The difference between pick 3 and 5 is 500 points which is worth a high 2nd rounder. Imagine just moving back two spots and getting a an extra 2nd. Then maybe do it again. Lots of holes and the more premium picks the better.

I think San Diego is fine at WR. They have Keenan Allen, Malcolm Floyd, and Stevie Johnson.

Edit: Is Keenan Allen a FA after this year? I'd think they'd resign him if he is.

He was drafted the same year and a few spots after Terrence Williams, so next year he will be in his final season

Gotcha. I don't know why I thought he was a 1st round pick.

Edit: Also, it's pretty sad that we took Williams over him. He has far fewer games played but is (at least statistically) superior to Williams.

Not too hot. NFL.com lists WR as their no 1 need. I realize that is just an opinion but one that is valid. IMO

yea, Williams fits the arch-type that we seem to like. Dez, Miles Austin, TO, Terrence Williams, Roy Williams and Devin Street are all more or less the same size, so I know why we picked Williams. But Keenan Allen would have been a better pick

I really wish this team would try to get a legitimate deep speed threat. For all that Dez can do, he's not a burner. Having that presence on the field is huge IMO.

We still have a good chance to jump San Diego if Cindy beats Denver this weekend then Denver is LOCKED into the #3 spot for the playoffs and could rest starters for their final game against.... San Diego
Of course we have to tank our last two games.
If philly beats wash this weekend wash will def being playing hard their final game against us.
