My coworker is a 49'er fan and he hates Kaepernick, but he also understand he gives the 49'ers the best chance. Gabbert is, and always was, horrible.

I like the cause he's fighting for and he was given a unfair shot.

Unfair based on what? He had "dead arm" all preseason and has sucked for the last couple of years. Give me a break.

He had a "dead arm" but he was type backup lol. Sure lol. He's had no. He was a solid quarterback when he had a legit coach. He had a offensive line coach as his head coach. This whole situation in San Fran is a joke. And for someone who "sucked" he sure has had far more post season success than anyone on this team has had.

Wow so now youre going to compare him favorably to Romo. Kapernick and the niners have been bad. Gabbert hasnt been much better. Heres the last 8 starts.

For what its worth I dont personally disagree with the decision to play him over Gabbert. As a fan id rather see a change if nothing else is working. Kap may do a better job, I really dont know. But to say it isnt fair that he wasnt starting from the beginning of the season is living in a conspiracy driven fantasy world. You really think Chip wants anything more than to win? After his debacle in Philly its tough to believe hed attempt to make a political statement over a football statement.

What "agenda"? What are you even arguing or debating here? The guy deserved to be starting long before now. What's the problem? Gabbert is a bum. He can't throw past 10 yards.

Who said that it was conspiracy driven? I think Chip is just a football moron and he's stubborn. You're making this far more than what it is. I said Kap hasn't gotten a fair shake. He hasn't. No conspiracy about it.

Except Gabbert had a higher yds per attempt average in the year the split starts. Im very obviously debating that there was nothing unfair about Gabbert beeing given an opportunity, especially considering he was healthy and able to play through out camp and the preseason when Kap was not. Both qbs have been comparable since Gabbert arrived and I dont believe either is hands down better at this point.

It is silly to claim it was unfair for Gabbert to be named the starter. So why the sudden justice now? Its not justice, its the simple fact Gabbert hasnt been good enough and they arent winning games. Kap is healthy and Chip has seen enough to give him a shot. I see no conspiracy in either qb being given a chance to start. Your agenda is clearly based on "the cause he is fighting" and him being miscasted as a back up when he had not earned the right to start. If he went into camp and preseason and out played Gabbert Id have to agree with you but he didn't and the last time the same two qbs played for the exact same team under the exact same coach Gabbert was slightly better. Its not rocket science.

In truth the niners would have been better of just keeping Alex Smith.

But my intial response is still MEH, why would any Cowboys fan root for a niners QB PERIOD!

Kap is a playoff proven quarterback. Gabbert is a bust. They are night and day.

And I root for anyone I want. I told you I'm rooting for Kap because of what he stands for. Is there something in the fan rule book that says you can one root for Cowboys?

Nope Im fairly certain anyone can root for anyone. Also fairly certain those fans with any sense of history would still prefer the niners to continue to suck. Kap was a playoff proven qb with a team that had a nasty defense and an awesome oline. Since those went away hes been mediocre at best. Good luck to you though, I hope your Sundays full of cheering on the niners are very satisfying for you.
