"With Elliott out of the game, the offense was a fraction of what it normally was" rings hollow with people who saw how we moved the ball early without Elliott. Depending on how many possessions we get, we were on a pace for 350-400 yards and 27-30 points without Elliott until the #3 QB came in. So it sounds like either you didn't watch the game all that closely, or you're simply not being objective.

Somebody's bound to point out that kind of thing, so don't be surprised or take offense when it happens. All part of the give and take.

Specifically, how did Dak do without Zeke in there? Don't use Romo to pad the stats - he's not going to play unless Dak gets hurt. You want to take out the third string QB because we sucked with him, but you want to put in the second string QB because he makes the offense look good. We were on pace for all of 12 points without Zeke and with Dak in there.

I'm expecting the TE position to look pretty different next year from how it did this year.

Witten and Swaim will be back, but any other faces will be new ones I think (counting Gathers).

Hanna too, he's underrated as a blocker. He used to be terrible at it, but he's actually done a really good job with our run game when he was healthy.

Witten/Hanna/Swaim/Gathers. I don't think the TE position changes much, outside of camp bodies. Maybe if a guy drops to the 4-5 round since it's a deep draft for TE. Probably a flyer in the later rounds and UDFA.

Any interest in Benny Logan? Don't think Philly can resign him, although he wants to stay in Philly.

Definitely. I think he'd be a solid 1T next to Collins.

He probably benefits from being next to one of the best DT's in football, but he'd still be a great pickup, depending on the price obviously.

That'd be funny, Thornton + Logan, former Eagles holding down the 1T. Maybe Thornton can convince him to come to Dallas if he likes actually winning.

Then we can drop the "without Zeke" because this has got nothing to do with Elliott. With Dak's record against elite defenses, I'd give Romo & McFadden the edge over Dak & Zeke, wouldn't you?

I just can't understand how people don't appreciate avoiding turnovers. Most of the time it's less about the plays you make than the mistakes you don't. Romo's first throw was a risky, poorly-placed ball. It was to the right coverage, granted, but he either doesn't have the arm for those long throws anymore or he got too excited and missed. I hope it's the latter because if he comes in we're probably behind and if he starts winging balls to score non-existent 21-point TDs that sail 10 yards off target then our goose is cooked.

Between Williams and Butler, difficult choice. Williams goes hot and cold, but overall game is better than Butler's. Dallas signs one, no clue as to which (probably the cheapest). Definite need in draft; preferably someone with top end speed.

Unless 2016 repeats (no takers) don't see Leary staying. Collins starts based on talent and salary. Needs better technique, but flashes as a very good guard.

williams and leary may find big paydays elsewhere.

I'm no too sure that I expect Hanna to be back.

Nothing to do with reality, because this is Dak's team now.

But if I had to choose for one game against a defense like the Giants, I'd take Romo for the experience factor.
Is Dak the backup cause Romo won't finish a physical game

I'm not sure how people thought those were good drives. We had the ball twice and did virtually nothing, netting all of 3 points in a quarter - yeah, that 12 points per game pace was pretty stellar. And that was with McFadden in there, who is a pretty good back. But he's no Zeke and if you take Zeke out of this offense Dak would find the rowing to be a lot harder.

I also think it's funny how many people think the offense was fine because Romo did well without Zeke. Ummm, last time I checked they weren't playing Romo. Maybe I missed the memo that Rome is going to start in the playoffs, in which case I fully support that idea the offense will still look pretty good without Zeke.

Exactly, if I have time later I'll make a list of the drives on the first two possessions of each game. It will average out to a ton more than 27 yards on average.

Same here. If we lose Escobar and get Hanna back, its a net gain if everyone else stays healthy.

Really let's see what Dak did against Detroit when Zeke didn't play......oh wait a minute that wouldn't fit the agenda though so we can't do that
