Remember this offseason when half the threads were about our DL being a disaster? Remember that?
David Irving is beasting and they should leave him at DT to play a ton of snaps. Tyrone Crawford is a run-defense guy playing out of position and he had a strip sack and blocked FG. DLaw is on a pace for 22 sacks and Collins is also an excellent player. I’m starting to like Richard Ash as 15 snap guy as well.
The Corners are settling in as well. Scandrick had a very good game, even while playing injured. The blocked FG return was an excellent, heady veteran play. Lewis looks like a third year yet and seems like a guy who could be a Josh Norman when he has experience. Anthony Brown was inconsistent early but seems to be settling in as a solid CB at this point.
This was the first game where Dallas caught the breaks, which was great to see. We could be 6-1 with a few more breaks (or a healthy Sean Lee) and it was great to see the Pick 6 batted pass drop into the hands of a high character guy like Byron Jones.

I love the call to go for it on 4th Down in the 1st Quarter. It shows confidence in the OL and in Zeke and it sends the message that Dallas can control the game. The drive with 4.30 left in the game for a FG was exactly that, complete control of the game that the opponent couldn’t stop. We almost did that against Green Bay but just had too much time to kill off the clock.
I love Mike Nugent! He is awesome! And hopefully he is cut tomorrow because Dan Bailey makes a miracle recovery. Me want my blankey.
Alshon Jeffrey was the FA WR I wanted this offseason and we had the money to do it. We just didn't want to give out a multiyear deal and get away from the draft strategy. I get that Twill was a bargain and a familiar target for Dak, but just imagine what this team would do if you had him or a guy like that at WR2. Then think about what a speed WR like a non-headcase DeShawn Jackson could do.
