I have watched him play. He doesn't play like an MVP candidate.
Agreed. He doesn’t look like a typical NFL QB from central casting. He looks goofy and uncoordinated at times. But I see some Terry Bradshaw in him. He may look funny and Joe Kapp-ish at times but he is productive.

Cowboys will win the next 2, then lose to Philadelphia to finish with a 6-4 record after 10.

Philly media will wet the front side of their briefs, Zoners will whine about all the suffering they've had to endure the past 24 years(yes, someone on this board said the Cowboys have been terrible the past 24 years)

Cowboys will go 5-1 the rest of the way, and they will make a run to the SB... which they will win!

Which will be a must win, because when fella down in Houston figures this thing out(next season), it's all over for everybody else! He looks like the first QB that can single handily will a team to a championship

I've seen Risen say that about Wentz in the past, he picked the wrong guy to say that about!

One thing that could prevent a Cowboys SB appearance: Dak game hasn't traveled since Pittsburgh
Spoiler alert maybe?

If you know how to read the future, don't ruin it for the rest of us!

Bradshaw and Kapp had the best D in the game plus a lot of other talent around them. Once that was gone Bradshaw especially looked ordinary. I see nothing in Wentz that tells me he can really excell at a true MVP level. Current stats mean very little; the birds have not played anyone really good and who played good yet.

When our top flight D gets to play Wentz, we will see how good he is...............oh well.

It will be interesting to see how the birds LT play goes with Peters out for the season. Teams will now be looking to exploit that weakness and Wentz will have to cope.

Two points on the OP.

1) Brown doesn't seem to be settling in at all. In fact, he's clearly our worst CB at this point. The PI was a bad call but you can see he's still grabby and getting beat at times. Shame Awuzie is hurt.

2) Irving at DT is great but I still think the best D would be him outside with Collins at the 3 Tech and a real 1 Tech. But this franchise is somehow blinded by Marinelli's claim he can make anyone a real 1 tech. And because of that idiotic logic, we now have Collins playing out of position.

So Wentz is not playing at a high level?

If you watch him play an individual game and don't know the Eagles are 7 and 1, you wouldn't say "Damn that guy is definitely the MVP of the league".

The only thing that has made Wentz remotely successful is his willingness to run the ball when it is wide open for him. I have been suggesting Dak do the same.

I especially agree with your thoughts on the 1 tech.

This is some real gibberish right here.

If I watched that Skins game for example, where he had some big time throws and showed an uncanny ability to avoid pressure and make big plays, yeah, I'd think I was watching a really good QB.

You guys are so obsessed that he's an Eagle, you are totally slanting your "analysis" of him. I mean it's laughingly obvious.

Zoners will whine about all the suffering they've had to endure the past 24 years(

But Zoners do that every time the defense gives up a first down or after the offense has to punt! #nothingnew #spoiledwhiners

'We haven't had a good defense in forever' 'Rod defense sucks'

'Tony Romo would've never had to punt' ' 'linehan's play calling is terrible'

I remember those who didn't think Irving's return would mean much!#Zordon

He might do those numbers in 11 games!

What does him being an Eagle have to do with it? Tom Brady generally performs at an MVP level. Rodgers generally pulls a rabbit out of a hat in clutch time. I hate both of those guys but they do perform at an MVP level.

I wouldn't have any problem saying it if I believed Wentz was doing the same. Has he been efficient? Yeah, he has. He has not been elite. Your man crush on him is coloring your view of him.

I think we are a RDE, linebacker, and safety away from being a top defense. Maybe a runstuffing DT also

Marinelli insists on having an undersized 1tech. He had a historically athletic Warren's Sapp on his team and he has been trying to fierce a square peg into a round hole ever since.

Sapp was a generational talent, Hall of Famer. There are a lot more Vince Wilforks out there than Warren Sapps. Go get one of them and plug him in at 1 Tech and watch this run defense get better almost immediately. Especially the short yardage stuff.

I think some of you struggle to be unbiased because he plays for a division rival. How anyone could sit there and suggest he has not looked very good is simply mind numbing. I am not lying when I say it appears literally the only people who think Wentz has not been really good are Cowboys fans. What's that tell you?

I have no man crush on him. Frankly, I want to shoot the Browns GM for making that dumb trade with Philly. But facts are facts. He's easily one of the ten best QBs in football thus far this year.

So we need a RDE, LB, S and a 1 Tech to be an elite defense?

That's almost 40% of our defense. LOL.

Alshon is averaging like 40 yards per game receiving while his QB is having a MVP caliber season.

Its "like 40 yards" except that its 52 yards per game. TWill has averaged 25 yards per game over the last six games.

Jeffrey has over 300 career catches and has averaged 70 yards per game over his career. TWill averages 42 and that includes the 2015 where all of our other WRs were hurt and he was forcefed targets. And even then he only put up 840 yards for that season.

Beasley is barely getting touches, so Jeffrey’s wouldn’t get squat in this offense. Our receivers are fine, it’s the play calling. Garrett/Linehan have chosen to play ball control offense which means run, run and pass on obvious downs.

Beasley has a different game than a guy like Jeffrey - who would be a plus #2 or below average #1 WR. Beasley is great in space but he could never be a guy that consistently beats double coverage or could handle being a #1 for an entire season.

I think Taco, Jaylon and Woods will all be significantly better next year to fill those spots. Jaylon also could improve significantly this season, though Taco and Woods will likely be guys that need an offseason to make a jump in performance.
