Very good points, but my reaction is that until Dak is 100% certain in the offense I don't think they do a lot of deep throws. His game in an efficient ball control game like Tom Brady's so the number of deep balls isn't the right metric IMO.

Also this team has a ton of cap space and will have even more next year, I think there are real value issues coming up like Leary and T. Crawford, but Dez earns his money IMO .

Brady's offense relies on pick routes, but he throws a few deep balls. In the last three years before this year, he averaged over 100 deep passes on the year.

His offense does rely on short routes as well, but they use more picks.

Grimes is one of the better CBs in the NFL, on the end zone play he had position, got his hand on the ball and knocked it down. That isn't a catchable ball.
Dez had both hands on the ball even without his arms extended. If he extends like he did in the bottom pic, it's a TD.

He had a bounce-back game, but this a play we've seen him make before. In fact, it's exactly the kind of play that makes him Dez Bryant.

Yup, its not a perfect analogy. My point is that Dak's game is much more of a controlled, efficient game like Brady while Romo is more of a big play guy like Favre.

Yes, if Grimes doesn't have a hand on the ball and knock it down its a TD. No kidding.

In the second picture the Eagles DB doesn't have a hand on the ball to make it a PD. You can't compare those two.

Somewhere I recall seeing the Cordelle Patterson from Vikes may be available next year... If so and price is right sign him. Instant threat on ST.

I could see them spending the money on that kind of pick, or spending a mid round pick on a developmental WR that could be a returner right away. Dwayne Harris was that type of guy, but he spent a year on the PS before he assumed the role.

You might want to take a look at the picture of that play that you posted yourself.
We can both see it, so let's discuss it. Here's another angle.

Receiver has both hands on the ball. Defender extends fully, receiver doesn't. Defender wins.
