Guess who's name has surfaced out of Westwood as a person of interest? Jason Garrett, tough spot here for me as a Bruin nothing more would I love then having our guys get in gear to kick USuC to the curb year after year like we used to. However I do not want it to come at the expense of my Cowboys! I do not think this will go anywhere as there is no way that UCLA can get into a bidding war with Jerry Jones anyway.

I don't see JG taking a college HC gig when he could get an NFL HC job.

And so it begins....for every football HC vacancy on the planet, Jason Garrett's name gets mentioned as the "trendy" pick. If Jason Garrett went to the bathroom there, or if he didn't, he's the "guy."

Wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
LOL. Yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say that if JG gets a HC job it'll be on an NFL team.

Why in the world would Jason Garrett be interested in any college head coaching job. If he wanted to coach at that level, he would have moved in that direction before. Any college coaching would be a big step down for him. Geez. Those people need to get a life.

You must be an Aggie that is bitter about what he's done to you guys ever since you hired Franchione over him.

Actually, I am a Tech fan. I just don't think he can get us over the top now. It has been the same thing for years now. I don't think A&M had a shot at Leach, though.

They interviewed him but opted not to hire him in 2003, the Red Raiders are just one of the clubs that will alway be a 7 to 9 win team but it is just too difficult to recruit National Championship talent to Lubbock especially in the Big 12.

I do feel like Jason Garrett would dominate the college ranks with his play calling BUT Jerry will lace his pockets pretty nice to keep him in Dallas...:wink2:

I don't think it is Leach fault you can not get over the top you guys are just 3rd Fiddle in the middle of nowhere Texas. Texas; A&M and even Oklahoma have an easier time recruiting the state than you . Heck LSU may even have more top 100 Texas recurits than Tech has.

I just refuse to be satisfied with that. The only way to get talent is to beat those top teams at least occasionally. He doesn't and so we are stuck with the same routine. Beat the small schools. Lose to Texas, OU, Missouri, and any team that is ranked. As far as that interview with A&M I am positive it was just a money issue just like last year.

Yes, you are correct. However winning turns things around and we have to start beating those top teams. When that happens on a somewhat regular occasion then yes we will start getting the talent. Yes, I can blame Leach for that. He has the same problem with his team (no defense) that he has had for years.

It is all about recruitment and because Tech doesn't have a history of national titles or Big 12 titles the LSU's and USC's and Notre Dames of the world get Texan athletes a head of them, the kids want national exposure and Tech can't offer it on the level those programs do.

I went to Baylor how do you think I feel, ten years of losing after being a national powerhouse in the 80 and 70s.
