He was not a fit in Philly and now appears to be on the bubble because of the Shady McCoy trade and drafting of Karlos Williams (see tweet; he has not reported to offseason workouts). But he is young (24), very talented, 6'0" and 220 pounds, is physical, averaged 4.9 yards per carry his rookie year, and can catch the ball. On the downside, he has fumbling issues and seems to be a bit of head case (but we have plenty of those). I think we could either wait until final cuts, or throw BUF a conditional 7th rounder earlier if we want him in our camp. Much cheaper than a guy like Lamar Miller, but maybe just as talented, at least for a one year look-see (he's a free agent in 2016). Here's some highlights...

What do voluntary mean?

He doesn't sound too committed to being successful at his profession. He knows he is a bubble player that could be out of the league and he misses team workouts.

I like him OK, but Brown is far more talented and explosive. Gray is a nice, physical plodder, that will get you the tough yards, but not do much more. I'd rather swing for the fences if I'm going to use a roster spot.

No thanks to Brown. I'd rather roll with what we have or kick the tired on Knowshon or Chris Johnson.

I do not understand why we'd look to get older at RB, rather than younger. Give me a guy with young legs in December and January rather than old re-treads.

What about his bad attitude?

So we should be on the lookout for a guy who has fumbling issues and is a bit of a head case?

Every RB that would be available to us is going to have some warts. But this guy is more physical and a harder runner than any back we have on the roster right now. We need a physical runner. Also, he is in the last year of his contract, so he has every incentive to keep his head on straight for one year. This is the kind of "lightning in a bottle" signing that could work out.

Why this fascination with numerous backs that aren't as good as the ones Dallas already has?

He's younger, has no significant injury history, and is FAR more physical of a runner than any of our top 4. We cannot go into the season without a more physical presence at RB than the 4 we have, IMO.

Wasn't he pretty good in Philly? Can't say I follow a lot of Philly people but I do follow fantasy football and recall him being a stud for me when McCoy went down 2 years ago. If the scouts study him and see him as a better option compared to the guys we have then great. I would rather think bigger though especially if we are going to give up anything.

I see your point. But our backs has as much more question marks attached to them as in any other team. No reason to kick the tires on some other backs while we still can. To go into the season with the Backs we have could be a recipe for disaster.
