Ken Hamlin "very iffy," Victor Butler good to go

Ken Hamlin's availability for Sunday? Not so good. Victor Butler's? Looks like he will be good to go.

Hamlin did not practice Wednesday with his high right ankle sprain and coach Wade Phillips said Hamlin's chance of playing against the New York Giants is "very iffy." Phillips said Butler told him he was sore after the practice but "it looks like he'll be all right."

The players went through a practice at Cowboys Stadium because of the snow and rain in shoulder pads as Phillips attempted to get the timing back after the Thanksgiving break. It came after the defense held its morning walkthrough in the locker room and the offense had its in the cheerleaders' dance studio.

The stadium could be available tomorrow too but it sounded like Phillips wanted to get his players work in the weather conditions.

"If it's not too wet then we may have to go to an outdoor field [like Standridge Stadium]," Phillips said. "I wanted to get the practice in pads where they're coming off the ball, hitting each other and we wouldn't be able to do that outside [at Valley Ranch]."

We have missed his run support some. That part of his game was definitely improved over last year. Speaking in generalities here.

It sounds like we are coming off the Thanksgiving break very healthy. Lets just hope most (if not all) of the injury bug is behind us now.

I may be in the minority here, but I think Scandrick & Ball = trouble back there for us. Not saying we lose. I'd just rather have Hamlin. Wouldn't be surprised if the Giants pick on Scandrick (again) and Ball.

Why? He's done fine at CB

He's done okay. He's also made several mistakes, and the team is mistake prone enough already.

not a popular opinion -- but one that is correct. Against a team featuring a big back, we'll really miss Hamlin.
