The cowboys are bringing in guys who will likely be available and be BPA at 27.

I'm curious to see if OO is brought in. If not, I think you can just about scratch him off the list. I'm sure @Risen Star will love it when he hears "With the 27th pick in the draft, the Dallas Cowboys select... Kevin Johnson, CB Wake Forest".

I wonder where they would play him? I like the player, but he's not necessarily fast enough to play the weakside(4.61 forty) and not necessarily big enough(6'0", 232 lbs) to play the middle linebacker. If I had to choose it would be middle linebacker with reports of Sean Lee moving to the weakside.

It would be nice to take him and stick it to the Packers though since I'm sure he's someone they covet with their need at linebacker:p.

I would be lying if I didn't hope for Kendrick at 27th as a dark horse candidate

Me too, he's such a good linebacker and a great fit on the weak side of our defense

Watch his highlights he is constantly making plays on the ball and you can tell he's going to be a stud

Has KJ visited?

I'd be down for Kendricks at #27.

He hasn't visited yet, but he's on the books for an official in town visit. Not sure when it's scheduled, but I would imagine the date will be announced pretty soon.

I think the targets at 27 will be Gurley, Gordon, K. Johnson, E. Kendricks and possibly OO as a fallback option.

I would be fine with any of those players at 27. Each of them should be able to help us Day 1.

This is likely a fall back option for Dallas, IMO. I really like Kendricks and think he'll be the best 43 OLB that comes out of this draft... however, I think Dallas would rather go DL, RB, or CB at 27 if the BPA is there. If they're all gone though, they'd be really happy with Kendricks I think.

He could be a defensive building block and would immediately improve the nickle coverage.

Why he'd play the Jack don't you know. It will revolutionize the game. :D

Have they brought in any 1st round DEs or shown much interest in any? It is looking more and more like the first round pick will be CB, RB, or LB. I am thinking there is almost 0 chance it will be a DE.

We've drafted high and not brought the player in. This happens when a player they have ranked high and likely not thought available is there when they pick. Or they don't want others to suspect they are interested.

I think edge rusher and pass rusher either end or tackle is high on their list. Same for LB who can cover, rush, and play the run. They will be looking for someone to be disruptive on passing downs.

I'll be shocked if they draft any player in the 1st round that they have not at least interviewed and more than likely visited with extensively.

I think they realize that they really screwed up when the drafted Claiborne without ever interviewing him or doing extensive research on his mental-makeup.

Claiborne was drafted when Ciscowski was in charge. Now that Will McClay is in charge, I think they have a better attention to detail. I've seen Ciscowski interviewed and he seemed to be 99% focused on what the player did on the field and let the Coaches or Jerry/Stephen make the decision on character/mental-makeup issues at draft time. Stephen says they have decreased their draft board from about 240 players to about 120 players in recent years. I assume that mental makeup is a big part of reducing the amount of players on the board by half.
