Looks like the Raiders are going to bench Kerry Collins. Chances are, he'll be released after the season.

Anyone want him? I'm not sure why he's playing so badly, but he's a younger alternative over Bledsoe.

At this point, I'd like to pick a younger QB and stick with him for abit. I'm tired of the QB carousel.

We need to figure out this QB position....we can't keep using guys that are towards the end of their careers.

It's getting old...not to mention the age of the QB's that we have had the past couple of years.

Unless we start using premium draft picks on a QB, we'll continue to be bringing in retreads ... as for me, I'm pretty sick of them: Ryan Leaf, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Bledsoe.

Not my cup of tea.

But management doesn't seem to be in hurry to draft a top tier college QB.

So I guess we're stuck with retreads. :bang2:

Honestly if you think Quarterback is the problem with this team (which seems to be what you are implying with a "lets get a new QB thread") then you really don't understand football. It's clear something needs to be addressed on this team and it's the offensive line. Our offense was playing well up until Flozell went down - some said Flozell's injury would have no impact on what we do and it may even help. How foolish do those people look now??

By the way if Drew Bledsoe and Vinny Testaverde are retreads what do you call a guy who has been in the league for 12 years and has only thrown 5 more touchdowns than interceptions?

This is not the same Collins who was with the Giants. We've(Chiefs fans) seen him four times with the Faders and he seems to get dumber by the game. As one of your posters said, if he can't hit Moss, then....?

I agree that the problem with this team is NOT Drew Bledsoe, but it is with the line/coaching.

But, DB hasn't look good when he HAS had time to throw the ball lately. He looked great earlier in the season, but other times just make you scratch your head.

I would say that when a Quarterback gets rattled - a term that people usually just disregard when they hear - they are going to have less confidence in their offensive line and pass protection scheme in general thus effecting his play. Because I agree with you as well that when he has had time to throw (which isn't all that often) there have been times when he's been off. But it's not as if he's forgotten how to play or lost the arm strength and accuracy all of a sudden. There is logic behind what happens in football especially behind performance of Quarterbacks. There is logic behind Bledsoe's decline in play over the past 4 weeks as well and it's not all just him...

Is he playing badly? I haven't been watching him, but I do see he has 3rd most passing yards in the league (behind Brady and Palmer), and a respectable TD-INT ratio.

(None of this comment is to be construed as support for the idea of bringing him over...)

The line has been pathetic lately, but Bledsoe has made some bad throws and decisions w/ time as well

I think it was like 3rd and 10 on our 2nd to last drive of the game he had a shot ay Key for about 12 yard down hte middle, but it almsot looked like he spiked it

Yep, I've said this same thing for the last 2 years (Testaverde, Bledsoe). We are going to have a SERIOUS defense (we already do) and won't be able to do a thing with it because of this QB carousel.

I fear that as long as Parcells is around, we'll never go with youth and the future at the QB spot.

We may end up with youth everywhere else, including OL, but not at QB and that will haunt this team even after BP decides to get lost.
