Key on GAC

----------------------

The farther he gets away from his playing days in Dallas the less I like him.

Who's Bernard Berryman?

Do you ever get the feeling that Key thinks he's 'Jerry Rice'ish' when it's clear to most fans that he's more 'Art Monk'ish'. Not that being 'Art Monk'ish' is a bad thing because he was a very good WR and eventually got into the HOF.

Any one think Key is getting in on his first, second or third go around? Or do you think he's more in line with getting in one year when the class isn't all that spectacular?

Oh yeah, he's talking about the Cowboys being a SB fav, Terry Glenn and Tony Romo being a celebrity in this clip.

I'm not a Keyshawn fan, and I only listened to about 2/3 of the interview; but I didn't hear anything from Key that I thought was wrong. He flat out stated that Eli didn't win the SB, his defense did. He was fairly neutral on the Terry Glenn contract issue. He said the Cowboys should be one of the favorites to go to the SB this year. He said Romo was right there behind Brady and Manning as the best QBs in the league and pointed to all their experience as helping to put them there. He defended Romo's "rock star" status.

The guy that made me sick was Galloway. He was desperately trying to elicit criticism of the Cowboys. He is such a dick head.

I like Key, I like what he did when he was here and I still rock his jersey, but I dont like how nasty he got when we got T.O....its a business and he has to understand that.

The Ego thing in the last 1/3 is what set me off. You are lucky you didn't finish listening.

You're just now getting that feeling? ;)

I've never been able to stand Keyshawn. He always thought he was ten times better than he is.

Even today, Galloway asked about Tony's celebrity persona, and Key had to go off for about a solid minute on "I was the #1 overall pick, I played in New York, I'm from Hollywood, I, I, I"... The guy has a screw loose.

And Hall of Fame? Bah. If he makes it in with Bob Hayes being kept out, they should burn the place down.

I dont think or at least hope anyone actually believes he is a hall of famer or even close to it. IN the era of the wr and the passing game his numbers really are not that impressive. Look how long it took art monk. Monk was better than johnson.

He is a nut though. I remember he had a show with the hardline in 04. I think it was tuesdays at 4. He would never call in, and then at 5 someone would call and say he would try to fit them in. He was paid to be a part of there show and never made it!!!! Even when he was on he was always confrontational, aggressive and seemingly upset about something. Everything was in comparison to him.

I thought it was interesting that Key said he was going to Drew Henson's wedding. I remember he always supported Drew Henson and thought he was going to be the future of the Cowboys. Is he playing anywhere right now? Last I heard he was in Minnesota.

I'm just thankful Romo worked out so well.

If I remember correctly, henson and johnson were neighbors in Tampa. They became friends there.

I don't see how a Cowboy fan could hear that interview and be angry at anything Keyshawn said. He vehemently defended Romo's personal life despite the ridiculous baiting attempt by Galloway.

I know he's had some petty little run-ins with Irvin and T.O. the last couple years, but I still love the guy. He busted his butt during his time in Dallas and brought our offense a toughness we had lacked. That still holds water with me.

I don't think anyone was angry at what he said in the interview.

Some just think he's an egomaniac who thinks he is the best football player to ever lace them up.

The best thing is when Irvin interviewed Key and told him he wasnt a #1 WR.... Irvin was just laughing at him.

Priceless.

Has he ever actually said this? Has he even said he's the best WR of all-time, or of his era? I strongly doubt that he has.

Key knows what he is... a great WR who had a great career. Over 800 catches, over 10,000 yards, and a Super Bowl ring. Not a bad resume. If anything, he is underrated by many of his haters who view him as an average player who only thinks he was great.

Yes, his off-field attitude reflects the fact that he knows what he was. But he was never a prima-donna between the stripes. He was tough as nails and arguably the best blocking WR in the game. I remember times while he was a Cowboy where Parcells had him line up in the backfield and throw crackback blocks on a DE. How many WRs do you know who would do that type of dirty work?

Hate on the man all you want, but it takes tremendous consistency to put up 4 1000+ yard seasons and go over 800 yards every single year of your career (excluding the year the Bucs suspended him).
