Kicker observation from Nick Eatman

Nick Eatman on the lunch break made a comment about watching the kickers the other day and made the observation that he could not tell who was kicking they were so both so bad("not even close"). This appears to be the Brad Johnson position of this years team and possibly could be just as influential as Brad's talent last year. If this is really what is going on I hope we have a backup plan as that fourth and one needs a little polishing. Theo made the discovery before the last game that the eagles struggle mightily if they have to go the length of the field, wonder if that trend continued after they played us. Go Cowboys

From Confident Corner:

Practice Moved
Although Cowboys Stadium is preparing for Saturday's Cotton Bowl (Ole Miss-Oklahoma State), the Cowboys practiced indoors away from Thursday's chilly, rainy weather.

Head coach Wade Phillips was pleased with his team's energy level and said new kicker Shaun Suisham made every field goal attempt. Signed last week, Suisham made his only attempt - a 23-yarder - against the Commanders.

Wonder when that was, because Wade said in his PC that Suisham made every kick he tried.

If there's one player that I cannot wait to see retire, its Akers. Guy has just killed us.

Just for the "feeling better about the kicking situation" I'll go Wade > Nick Eatman.

I feel like Eatman may have been juicing his reports, much like your serial killer reporter from the Baltimore Sun, MacNalty.

Wade just had a PC before practice and they asked him about this. He said at first Suisham was missing some and he went up to Wade and said, "Don't worry coach, don't worry, I just have to get my timing down." And Wade told him, "Well I am worried, because I don't know you."

But Wade said since then his timing has gotten better and he's been making almost everything lately. And the good thing is, he said they have been going right down the middle, not sneaking in.

What does Eatman have to gain(He is no Micky S), he was not very happy in his telling of this tidbit, you can listen to the lunch break(DallasCowboys.com) and gather your own opinion.
My feeling is to trust Nick more than Wade after last years fiasco with injury reports and the Brad Johnson economy of truths. I always like Nick as he seems to have a slant to his thinking that he stays with no matter what the evidence us to the contrary.

Reporters don't get to watch the real practices. Just warmups which is apparently what he was watching.

That may be the harshest thing I've ever heard Wade say to a player

Why do people see that Mickey has a boss, but think the rest of the local journalists don't? I'm not making any judgment about Eatman in particular, but gloom and doom about the Cowboys gets readers in a way that good news doesn't. They're hardly impartial.
