So, I was perusing rosters and looking at kickers that might available. I thought Cortez looked OK on Monday night, but he seems to have a dubious history.

One team to watch:

Tampa Bay - Matt Bryant (remember him?)/Todd France - Todd France was all NFL Europe and Bryant probably would have made the Cowboys roster last year before he got hurt. A nice article on their battle, both seem to be doing well.

I I don't know if BP wants to do it this late in the pre-season but if Cortez has a lapse Saturday, then he might scan the wire.

Remember, when you are coached by BP and you are okay, he can make you better than okay.

How old is Chris Boniol?

Isn't he unemployed these days?

I know he has a kicking shool or something like that...

And what about that Tim Seder guy we used to have ... kickers seem to have longevity ... some of them at least.

The one word misspelled... :laugh2:

How about Scott Norwood?

KC will be kicker shopping as well, no way they stay with tynes this season. he stinks and may be in jail as well.

I DO NOT TRUST CORTEZ. SOMEONE ELSE POINTED THIS OUT TOO, CORTEZ MISSED A FG WITHIN 30 YARDS TO WIN IT, THE NINERS GET THE BALL BACK AND HE HAS ANOTHER CHANCE TO DO IT AND HE MISSES AGAIN. I DO NOT LIKE THIS AT ALL. HE'S WORSE THAN CUNDIFF...

Cortez is 8/18 from 40-49...44%
Cortez 41/57 overall...72%(if i round up)

Cundiff 17/28 from 40-49...60% 16% is alot of points Cortez failed to pick up
Cundiff 55/74 overall..74% 17 more kicks, 2% mroe accurate

not only this, but in his time in SF, for wahtever reasons Cortez only attempted 1 FG of 50+ yards, so they had no trust in him from range.

you guys were worried about Cundiff and his abilities...Cortez is alot worse. I've seen Cortez, sorry to take one bad outing, but miss not 1, but 2 clutch kicks in one game. Cundiff beat St. Louis with a late 50+ yarder a couple seasons back, the Giants 2 years ago with that 52 yarder on MNF, and the overtime winner. Cundiff has made some big kicks, and I dont trust him...Cortez.. well the stat line says it

Yep, you busted me. I am Al Micheals.

I am irate about all the bad things you have been saying about me on this board. They don't say those things about me on the San Francisco 49ers board.

Did you know that Dallas beat Seattle on a questionable catch by Keyshawn near the end of the game? It was dubious. Jerry Rice had a remarkable catch though. The way he threw that defender to the turf was in no way pass interference. What a remarkable receiver.

Do you believe in miracles?!

I am with you!

Cortez is the last guy I want to see here. I just remember watching him with San Francisco and they had the worst kicking situation in the NFL. I watched him miss FG after FG, and could only ask myself, how is this guy in the NFL.

IMO the worst thing that happened Monday night is Cortez made his kicks. I would call this false hope.

the reason I didnt put the averages for 40+ up was because its completely inflated stats. Cortez is 1-1 from 50, but Cundiff is 3-8, which aint bad at all. Give Cortez 8 shots from 50 plus andhis 40 plus average is probably around 40%...

you cant have a kicker that doesnt at least hit 40+ kicks at 60%.
