...that at times, but the truth is that most kickers during the 60's, 70's and 80's were in the mid 70's in FG%.

It's just that with the salary cap and parity three points will win or lose more games than what we were use to experiencing in the past.

I know no one wants to hear this guy's name, but one of Dallas more stable names as a FG kicker was Rafael Septien and his lifetime percentage is only 74.

Basically he missed one out of every four kicks while at Dallas.

it's not like they can't kick it's because they choke. Kicker are basically like every other position, u need a good kicker, u need a good QB.

If adam vineterri misses those 3 fgs that won all 3 super bowls, Tom Brady would not be considered a great QB or if Scott Norwood make that 47 yarder against NY in the super Bowl, Buffalo would be known as one of the greatest teams of all time.

Once again it's like playing the dozens damned if u do damned if u don't

I think given fans' general disdain for the kicker position, we tend to hold unrealistic expectations for kickers.

We're ready to release any and every kicker the second they miss a field goal, despite already knowing that even the good ones typically only make 80percent or so of their kicks.

Look at the reaction to Vanderjagt here. Dude's 6 of 7, but I guarantee you there will be cries for his release the second he misses another -- regardless of its distance.

It's cause they don't kick against the Dallas Cowboys every game. How many kickers have missed a kick against us in the last 3 years?
