12. Dallas (7-5). For years, some in the league have grumbled that the Cowboys have an unfair advantage by playing on Thanksgiving at home every year. That’s true; playing at home in an exceedingly short week when the other team always travels is a big edge, as is what Dallas has now: the ability to give its players four full days off, plus an extra day before playing a Monday-nighter next week at Chicago.

Tradition doesn't please everyone, but it's still tradition.

Hasn't this been an argument for years?…. shall it never change!

king is such an idiot.

If the patriots or giants were the team playing on thanksgiving every year he would write a novel about the tradition of it and how being stuck on the jersey turnpike is what makes thanksgiving special.

the complaint has always been that we get to play at home on the sunday before thanksgiving, we earned the turkey game just like Detroit did by stepping in and taking it when no one else would. It should never be changed.

I have no idea why he or anyone else is complaining about dallas this year, we played at NY at 3:15 last week so we lost that advantage.

Detroit played tampa at home sunday. If he wants to make an example then he should use them.

but I guess they didn't eliminate his giants a week ago...so.

Course, absolutely nobody brings up the fact that very few of the teams in the NFL even wanted to play on Thanksgiving. Dallas opted too. And were awarded the home field advantage, just like Detroit. So shut up King. And stop with the fluff pieces. Go out and actually earn your money.

this.

Dallas and Detroit were the only 2 teams to step up and actually volunteer to play the turkey day game when everyone else in the league did not want to. thems the breaks..

Where is the advantage when we traveled from NY on Sunday? Playing in a short week gives no one an advantage. I guess King is running out of material lol

He also added in this complaint about the Cowboys NFL network special this week:

7. I think, somehow, I don’t get the same excited feeling I had about the Dr. Z NFL Films piece two weeks again and the Steve Gleason: A Football Life last week when I hear this week’s NFL Network special is about the wacky ’90s Dallas offensive line.

Someone tell me what this guys problem is with the Cowboys. I know the media hates us but this guy isn't hiding it at all.

There's a Thursday game almost every week

LOL, good point, ... someone needs to let King know this.

How did he ever get to be considered a football expert? If it was the same way Florio did, it makes sense that he doesn't know much.

I would like for the Cowboys to never play another Thanksgiving game. I cannot enjoy the game at all on that day. It is almost always on during the dinner time and I like to talk to family members who I haven't seen in a long time. Kind of hard to talk with one eye and one ear to the game. And most of my relatives are die-hard Cowboy haters who rejoice in a Cowboy defeat. Even when I go to a relative's house, the game is always on and the relatives are talking about it. There is no escape.

Years ago, before the internet and DirectTV, it was nice because it was a nationally televised game and another chance to see the Cowboys. Now, I can watch every Cowboy game on DVD-R, with the simple click on the internet, or tape delay on the NFL Network.

I'd much rather enjoy my Thanksgiving watching some other teams.

That I don't think is anything bias related. Dr Z and Gleason both have major physical issues whereas this special is a little different.

I think FO.com has thoroughly proven thru statistics that the Thanksgiving game is *not* an advantage to the Cowboys or the Lions.

But hey, why would we want to thoroughly investigate something when spouting off platitudes is so much easier.
