Kiper Big Board/Position Rankings 1/12/26

Ok. Garret is a generational talent/ first ballot HOFer. He is up there with Reggie White. Rarely will we see a guy come into the league with his skillset. Just bc a guy a is not the next Garret doesn't mean he's not going to be good.

Bain was a great college player and is dominating future NFL OTs. There is no reason to think he's not going to be great at the next level bc his arms aren't an ideal length. Aiden Hutchinson also has short arms and he's one the best DE's in the league. Bain's strength are his powerful legs and speed. He's better than anyone we have right now at DE and there are a lot of teams that could say the same thing.
Yea the Bain /Garrett link is a stretch

Mel has spoken! if Bain Jr lasted as long as he is saying and he isnt wearing a star its a sin

It's just too high of a bar. You can draft a pro level talent at DE and they not be on par with Garret who is in a class by himself.
Garrett has a decent shot at the all time sack record; depends on his health. But he is clearly a first ballot HOF right now.

Through the roof if we get Bains at 12 and Monsoor at 20

Hutch is also 6 foot 7 inches. If he is as good as Hutch I am all in. PS. I have a feeling Bain is actually 6 foot 2 inches. All these colleges seem to say their guys are taller then they are.
I don't think height is an advantage getting to the QB or playing run defense. I think tall defenders tend to get put at DE and the shorter guys with the same traits end up at LB. I am not saying he is as good as Hutchinson. I am saying people were saying the same thing about Hutch before the draft. In fact , his arm length was the primary reason the Jags took Jalon Walker over him.
I think Bane is going to be more of an Aaron Donald type bc of his powerful lower build. But again, hard to predict a college guy ever reaches that level of greatness. I think if Bane is on the board at 12, it's a no-brainer...... unless Caleb Downs is also there.

As someone pointed out, the hit rate on DEs that have arms below like 32" is abysmal and Bain may fall into that category. I try not to get too bogged down on these kind of analyses but the one presented in another thread had something like 32 DEs drafted in the first few rounds with short arms and all never amounted to anything.

Wish I could find that again. I probably have the analysis a bit wrong.
Micah Parsons 31.5" arms...
