The winner of the 1st round to me is the Browns. But they had two 1st round picks. Excluding them, I think it's the Commanders, Jets and Dolphins. Love those picks.
I agree. I saw an article on Bleacher Report titled "The Browns Did It Again" with a picture of Cameron Erving. I didn't read it but it seemed like it was criticizing the Browns for making their usual draft mistakes. Well, I don't think there was a safer pick than Erving in this draft. He might have been projected as a late 1st/early 2nd pick, but he was clearly the safest OL in this draft. And I like the Shelton pick too. The Browns have a good defense and a solid OL.

I think they critized that pick because they have Mack at center and some reports don't think Erving can play tackle. So why draft a center when you have a center. Flip side is, this could be Mack's last year because he has an opt out clause in his contract.
I think he could play OG if need be. You can't have enough good OLmen and Erving is one of the best there is.
Very true. I think he's a heck of a player. Being in ACC country, I've seen him a lot. Thomas, Bitonio, Mack, Erving is a good group.
Yep. They'd be legit if their offense didn't rely on two knucleheads (Gordon and Manziel).

Commanders got a good player but gave up the best player in the draft which was stupid.
They could have moved down a bit and probably still picked up their target and added picks.

That's not really true. I had Jones at 27....but I also had Malcom Brown in my top 15. So does that mean I should support taking Jones there with a clearly higher rated player on my board?
Giants were all over Scherff.....he wasn't getting past 9
Williams was the best player in the draft and best player available for the Commanders but they passed and drafted OL and you like this pick but when the Cowboys do the same thing, draft a lower rated player, you do not like the pick?
Still could have moved Down a few spots, they were at 5.
Did you hear me criticize the Frederick or Martin pick? Neither was my highest rated player at the time.
I actually agree with you on Brown, I liked the player and had hoped we would pull the trigger.
But is seems contradictory to scoff at the Jones pick due to the fact you had Brown rated higher and then praise the Commanders pick when the passed on not only the best player available but perhaps the best player in the draft.
What makes you think there was even an opportunity to move down to 6,7 or 8?
Or how about you just admit you're a Cowboys fan who can't stand that the Commanders got a great player?
It's simple. I had Scherff as one of the elite prospects in this draft. I didn't have Byron Jones even close to that.
