On the Irvin show Kitna said he thinks Crayton is just like TJ Houshmanzadeahahheaaa.

He said he believes the only difference between the 2 is TJ got more of an opportunity than Crayton has.

I thought that was interesting.

Also the players are throwing out the term "the Cowboy Way".

I think they are trying to set a mentality and run with it. Im not exactly sure what the players definition of it is but it is being thrown around a lot these days.

for many years Cal Ripken spoke about playing baseball the Baltimore Way.

it referred to doing things the way they had been taught over the years.
it was a consistent, methodical approach to doing the fundamental things
that are needed to be a good player.
things like making cutoff throws, being in position to take cutoff throws,
bunting, covering bases and such.

i hope that is what they are talking about when they say, the Cowboy Way.
i think that when Landry was here they had that consistency and it showed
even in years when our talent level may not have been as high as other teams.

I want this team to relish imposing their will on others. I want teams to suffer trauma when facing us. I want grit, dynamics and innovation. Unconditional teamwork.

I am hoping this is the "Cowboy Way".

I really like Kitna. Great offseason acquisition. Also, Patrick Crayton is going to have a pretty big year IMHO.

Lastly, I really like the mentality of this team. I can't recall this much focus and togetherness from a Cowboys team in years.

I don't see why Crayton couldn't be like TJ if given the chance

it's not hard to average 11 yards per catch

And Cal Ripkin was one of the most boring "stars" I saw throughout most of my childhood. (Didn't really catch his prime, though)

He was incredible. Just a great player that loved the game. If you didn't catch him in his prime then you missed a lot.

Crayton has better hands.

I think Crayton has the hands I think he tends to lack focus at times. I think that is something that can change but it is up to Crayton to run every rout as if the ball is coming to him because it just may be. I once heard Irvin say that when he ran a rout he ran it just as hard even if he was not the primary target because if the primary target was covered that ball just may be coming to him.

I think they are looking to spread the ball around more this year so the thought is if Crayton gets the opportunities he will be able to shine more.

Im sure in 08 he was shocked any time the ball went his way.

In 07 I thought he did a heck of a job.
