Kitna has never been a shrinking violet.

He's dissed other teams before he faces them.

To say he is cocky is an understandament.

Yew know, all it takes is a word said under the heat of on-field competition or one receiver saying Kitna throws a softer ball or Kitna has a better anticipatory sync (I studied trajectory, those things that shoot T-shirts into the stands).

Then all it would take is the other QB saying something back.
And there you have it, Jerra.
A team that was already known and torn for its talkative ways.
All it takes is for Kitna to say one ungracious thang and boom, cover material for SI.

This is looking bad if Kitna does not bite his tongue and accepts (not only by words) but embraces competition with the understanding that Romo is the man.

You raise an excellent point-- the possibility exists that Kitna will become a loudmouthed malcontent... I purely hope that doesn't prove to be the case...

Makes sense, lets give up a starting corner in this league, for another antique bu QB, that even Detroit wouldnt start.

Kitna was due a $1 million roster bonus next week and would have been released if he wasn’t traded.

Oh, did I mention that several young yet experienced QB's are on the market still.

O'Sullivan, Lossman, etc... not to mention Fitzpatrick that "was" available and should have been our number one priority FA signing.

Wish the scouting dept. had some say during FA, I honestly feel they are the real "brain trust" of the Franchise.

Who cares what Kitna said? We have the player that tried to embarrass the all time leading rusher. On the field. At his home stadium.

Kitna won't be saying anything when he is the backup.

The reason we traded Henry is because we were going to cut him also. A released player for a released player is good for both sides.

Kitna would not have renegotiated his contract already if he didn't think Romo was "the man."

I say I will never be surprised by comments by fans and then something like this thread is created and here we go again.

Henry would not be a free safety. That would require moving Hamlin to strong safety and he can't play that spot.

Henry is done. There is no getting around that. Scandrick or Jenkins will supplant himthis year and he will see less of the field. He is not a special teams player. So wat value does he bring?

Kitna will not be a starter here. He will come off the bench for mop up duty or if Romo gets hurt.

He can win games and has a better arm than Bradley. He adjusted his cap hit to come here, so attitude is a positive.

If he was cut we would be bidding on him.

So we trade a guy we may have been forced to keep because of cap for a guy we may have been required to bod on and get his services.

I just don't see how this isn't transparent to everyone here.

Fill holes on the cheap.

I bet we don't even bring in a legit player until Wares contract is signed.

He was injured......maybe that had just a little something to do with it....
Maybe Fitzpatrick wanted to go somewhere he could compete to start.
Loseman, no thanks. Not sure about O'Sullivan, don't know that much about him, so won't comment.

True, Kitna most likely would have been released. But then could have we got him, or any other QB for what we did, and not lill us on the cap hit. Like the other QB's would have.
And we let gop of an aging CB who can't seem to stay healthy. I liked Henery, wish he could have stayed if and when healthy. But he was due to make quite a lot, for someone that may have been pushed by several younger cheaper players, who also looked to be very good players.

Thank you.

Last year, we were the greatest team in history and nothing could go wrong.

Now, we are the worst team in the league, run by the worst owner in sports and we can do nothing right.

I'm not joining the doom and gloom team. Not at all.

some of the players have already said He is here to pressure romo.

I saw crayton and hurd say it tonight.

So there are guys in the locker room, apparently that think romo needs pushing. So this should turn out well.

and for anyone that says they didnt say that, fine, I am not putting videos up anymore so you will have to take my word for it.

I agree, This was a good Move because the loss of Henry Saves us 3.6 Million because the Lions have his contract now. He would not have started anyway. You don't draft player's in the 1st round to be career backups. Jenkins will start for the same reason that Spencer Will start at OLB. Both are ready! Both are younger! Both are cheaper! Plain and Simple. Besides Kitna has a better resume than the other options on UFA QB Market other than Kurt Warner. We didn't have to compete for his services as we would have had to do for Boller or grossman. Also Both of the aforementioned players would have demanded Guranteed Money. We even renegotiated Kitna's deal so we didn't even have to pay the roster bonus due tuesday.

We Must understand. We made a substantial finacial committment to Romo in 2007. We won't get Marino or Montana as Backups. Kitna is a servicable starter in the NFL. most teams are stuck with unproven guys ie. Troy smith, Jon Beck, or Kevin Kolb or Matt Cassell. I mentioned those 4 players because they all have something in common. a) They where #2 QB's on Playoff teams and b) Kitna has more wins than all 4 have in combined career starts. Lets accept that he is a decent option at backup QB.

Who the hell cares what Crayton or Hurd have to say about the trade or about Romo's play.

Considering there is no player in the leage that talks as much crap and backs it up with JACK on the field as Crayton, I dont think he needs to be talking about how other players need to be pushed.

I stopped listening to that loud mouth after he single-handedly lost the playoff game to the G-men.

As for Hurd, considering that he has done JACK on the field and that I have to check the website during the season to make sure he is still on the team because I never hear his name mentioned during an actual game.............he needs a big, tall glass of "shut the hell up".

I luv Romo and glad he's our QB but he does need to be pushed just like every other player on the team. Competition is healthy and I think he will benefit from it.. Say what you want about Kitna but he can play and gets the ball downfield. He doesn't have a backups mentality and I like that.

I think Kitna understand his role in Dallas and that is as a backup.
